Anybody run into this problem? I just got my ears pierst of Friday, and you can't take them out for 4 weeks, but you can't wear earrings in P.E. What I'm thinking is to put tape over them, but I don't know if there are better ideas out there. What do you think? What have you done/what would you do?
Thanks!

Wear them. Use them to stab the first person that says you cant. ;-)

Honestly...if you take out your earring for a what...45 minutes gym period?...your holes are NOT going to close up...they just mean, don't leave em out for an extended amount of time...

Yes, they will close up. Lobes are like that. You have to leave them in for an extended amount of time to let them heal correctly, otherwise you will have to repierce them with the stud when you try to put them in again.

Ugh trust me, just keep them in. I took my last studs out for like... i dunno 2 hours? And they closed right back up (They had been pierced for maybeee 4 days?) I had to pierce them again, and now they're crooked. Just tape em.

Our blocks are an hour and a half, and they'd definetly close up.

i was in sorta the same situation. i didn't want to get my ears pierced over the summer because of the chlorine in the pool, and i didn't want to get them pierced until after volleyball season. so i waited until october and got then pierced. i think i still had the starter earrings in during basketball season (i can't remember; it was so long ago :) ). i'm pretty sure i ended up just taking them out, but that was towards the end of the time i was supposed to wear them. so i'd say just wear the tape or band-aids over them. don't risk having to get your ears pierced again. :)

Back when I was in high school when I had my lip and eyebrow done, they told me to take them out, I told them I couldn't cause I just had it done the day before. They yelled at me, sent me to the principal, and I told him the same thing. So he told me to tape it. Let me tell you, I looked so dumb with tape on my lip and my eyebrow, but it made them happy.

I took my first earings out at gym and had to get one of my ears re-pierced. I would say tape, put a cotton ball on the back of your ear lobe -if your ear is pierces on the lower area- then use clear tape and tape your earing and the cotton ball down so the back end wont poke you if your ear gets hit. The clear tape wont look as horrible as the brown tape most schools have, and the cotton ball wont be seen in the back of your ear.

Oh and I would keep them in for 4 1/2 - 5 weeks, sometimes the ear will still close up if you take them out at 4 weeks. I've had 15 piercings, Lol for just 4 piercings now. I know all about infections, time to wait to take them out, cleaning and how the gym teachers used to do the same thing. Clear scotch tape words wonders with teh cotton ball in the back. For piercings on the upper ear I would say do not touch it at all. I know moving it at all the first month would feel like torture, get your doctor to write you a note or your mother. Saying you can not take it out no matter what they say.
