My 12 year old broke her toe yesterday. We will be heading to California for 2 days in the parks , a day at Knotts and a beach day before hopping on a short cruise and heading home. The fracture isn’t too bad but her foot is still very bruised and swollen. The doctor suggested buddy taping and wearing a firm soled shoe but at this point she can’t get her foot in a shoe. She does have a pair of Birkenstocks she’ll bring but I am worried that her foot with get stepped on. Anyone have any advice?
Ironically she broke her foot about 6 months ago, right before Christmas and a trip to visit family and missed a planned ski trip because she was in a boot.
As a side note she is almost 13 and stubborn so she won’t use a wheelchair or anything like that. I figure we will just have to take it slow. The good thing is the two of us were planning and mother/daughter trip for Halloween in October so it isn’t a one time trip.
