"Newest" Moms Hangout... take 2!

I ended up going with the Graco Myride 65 for our convertible car seat. Mow that Daniel is 17 lbs its getting harder and harder to lug the carrier seat around. It was easy to install and is very comfortable.

I never take that carrier out of the car. Well, almost never. ;) When I'm with my husband and Scarlett is sleeping, he'll carry it in. But she has NEVER stayed asleep more than 5 minutes anywhere we have taken it so I never saw a point.

We went w/ the Graco MyRide 65's for the twins too. Still RF now at 18 mos & around 25 lbs give or take a few lbs. Have a feeling they will out grow the RF on the MyRides on height well before weight -- think they are RF to 40 lbs, not sure.

Sarah was doing the same thing, so we picked up one of these:

that's the one I just got!!! washed it as soon as I got home and put it right on the crib :goodvibes and first Carys was like :confused3 but then she didn't give it a second thought :thumbsup2

Brynn now says “Hi!” to everyone she sees….. It’s still really cute, but it’s starting to drive me a little crazy. She says “ma” long pause “ma”. I’m pretty sure she isn’t saying ma-ma, just simply putting ‘words’ together, but it still makes me smile! She’s still kind of army crawling around and is ironically far better at going backwards than forwards!

Boy oh boy time flies fast… I can’t believe that on Saturday Brynn will be 7 months old, it feels like she was JUST born!

We are starting to look into convertible car seats and I was wondering if anyone has one that they really like. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful start to 2011!

Congrats on welcoming in your first newphew. Its awesome that Brynn says "Hi" Annabelle hasnt said anything yet there are times we think she is saying "I did it" but we know she isnt but it sounds like it. (Mommy said "you did it... YAY!!!, a lot)

We are too looking into convertible car seats. I even just posted a thread about it on the Disney Families on here.

Annabelle is pulling up on everything and crawling like crazy. I feel like I am always after her and always pulling her off the TV Stand. Its the only thing we dont want her pulling up on and yet she is always on it, no matter how many times I take her off it so funny, its like she knows she is doing wrong.

Hope everyone is doing great.

Ahhhhhh! I am 99% sure that Brynn is teething and I think I am slowly being driven crazy! Please tell me that this too will pass? The past few days have been horrible around here! She is drooling even more than normal, which I didn’t think was possible and is sticking EVERYTHING in her mouth and gnawing on them. She’s been waking up about 2 times during the night and is just all around fussy! Brynn had been sleeping through the night for the past 5 months and is an incredibly happy, easy going child who hardly ever cries….
Anyone have any teething tips?

Lauren~ When Annabelle is teething the thing that helps her the most is her teething pacifier, it looks like a rasberry. She does not take a pacifier she only uses the teething one to chew on and it really does help her. The teething rings in the freezer are the second best thing. My last resort for her when I can tell she is in a lot of pain and sometimes before bed is tynelol.
PS~ She cut her first two teeth right before 6 months and now is acting like she is teething again at 7 1/2 months so I did get a little over a month break.
Hope this helps you.

Scarlett has one of those raspberry looking teethers too and she seems to like it a lot. She also won't use regular pacifiers, never has cause she gagged on them as a newborn, but she does like the teething one. But since she doesn't have any teeth yet, I am not sure how they do when she's actively teething. I do think she's close to getting 1 on the bottom, but it's felt close for awhile now, so who knows how long we really have.

Lily is almost done with teething at 17 months so there is a light at the end of the tunnel. It does seem like she has been teething since about 3 months, but there are breaks here and there. You will get through it and forget it even happened. Thankfully the evidence of our memory breakdowns are available for viewing in our children's mouths. :teeth:

Trying to think of things to share. I think it's funny that once they start walking, we tend to stop talking about their milestones or interesting tidbits...

So Lily is very verbal. People are usually amazed by her. She was pretty late to walk and crawl, so maybe that thing about late walkers being more verbal is true. She's even stringing words together, which isn't supposed to happen until around 2. Yesterday we were playing, "Boo Boo" (playing under a blanket and yelling boo at each other.) i did something wrong and she looks at me and says, "no, no, no mom mom." (wagging her finger) "Out, Out!" (pointing out of the blanket.) It was hilarious.

Where'd everyone go?

My BFF is pregnant again. She has miscarried twice before, but this is the longest they've made it. She is 12 weeks along and the baby is due in early August (only a week after Lily's due date ;)).

She told me in a text message. :( We haven't seen very much of them lately with the holidays and it makes me really sad to think about how our relationship has changed. I understand that they are trying to keep this one close to the vest and downplay things. I assume they've had the first ultrasound since they have a real due date. Last time they found the miscarriage at the first ultrasound, so this is big progress.

Anyway, any positive thoughts you could send their way would be welcome! Hope everyone is doing well!

Yeah it's been quiet 'round these parts. :goodvibes Hope all is well w/ everyone & their LO's. Lots of sticky baby dust to your friend Sarah.:thumbsup2

She'll be in my thoughts. I cannot imagine how they must feel after loosing two. A couple that we know, but aren't close to, at work just found out they lost their baby at their 20 week ultrasound (they were hoping to find out the sex). Baby measured 17 weeks. SO heart breaking. Makes me want to thank God even more each day for my LO!

hotveggy- Congrats on your new baby girl :cloud9:

Things have been really quiet around here. Natalie just turned 19 months yesterday. Boy time flies. We are now trying to go down to just one nap a day. I guess I have been lucky that she was still taking 2 good size naps a day. Anyway, today is day 1 and so far so good. :thumbsup2

I just booked a quick get away for me and the hubby to the YC. Yipee! We need a Disney fix. We are going for just 4 nights in March. Bring on some sunshine!!!

Natalie is also a chatter box. She repeats, or tries to, everything. She will say a 3 word sentance. Her new word of the day is umbrella.

hotveggy~ Congrats on the new baby girl. Hope everything is going easy for you.
Sarah~ Sending hope, wishes, happy thoughts, etc for your friend.

We are busy getting ready for my cousin/friend baby shower this weekend. Its in West Virginia so hoping for clear roads. Im very excited for her its her first and we are very close. Also all my family that lives there (all my dads side) has not met Annabelle so they get to meet her. :cloud9:

We also decided what we are doing for Annabelle's first birthday! Minnie Mouse party esp since the week before her birthday we will be doing a day at the mouse. Hoping to get her ears while we are there. Im also looking about getting her a custom shirt for her birthday if anyone has any ideas for me on that.

I sew - I embroidered a t-shirt for justhat's eldest daughter and I made a dress for Sarah (Lily). What were you thinking of doing? PM me.

Lots of pixie dust to your friend!!! And my SIL is pregnant with their second and told him through text message. I thought that was a little weird... :confused3

Hope you have a safe drive and that it goes really well! I'm planning Carys's first birthday now and we are doing a Wonder Pets theme. Not a lot out there for that so I'm doing a lot myself. I'm not too artistic, but boy I'm learning to be! I know that it's just her first birthday, but it's fun!

On an up note, DH got a job!!! yay!!! It was a rough few months, but he will start on January 31st! Plus he will be working with 2 of our really good friends :goodvibes He will be working later hours which I'm not too excited about. I'm not a fan of being home alone when it is dark out, now especially with Carys, but I know that it won't be forever, so we will deal with it for the time being. I'm just excited for him and this new opportunity! yay employment! :lmao:

Congrats!

I know how that goes. My DH was laid off when Isabel was about a month old (November) and didn't get a job until March. Thankfully he got his dream job at more pay than we hoped for.

Hotveggy- Congratulations on your new little girl! Hope you and your family are doing well!

Hulagirl87- So happy to hear about your husband's new job! I'm sure a lot of weight has been lifted off your shoulders!
