"Newest" Moms Hangout... take 2!

Believe me this is not how I want to handle this, but I can't just walk away from all of you without trying something. And I'm sorry but I just can't ignore it. I've tried since I discovered the issue on Saturday and it's constantly on my mind.
:grouphug: Please don't go - you or Patsy! Hopefully you two will be able to talk and all will be well again! I'm hoping it is just a misunderstanding! But if not, I hope you can chat and get things on the mend. I love both of you being on this thread!

I want us all still to be posting on the Newest Moms Hangout when our babies are 20!!!

That would be awesome! :goodvibes

Harley, I would not panic just yet. She may be having computer problems. It happened to one of my BFFs. I thought she defriended me and it turned out to be a FB problem...just be patient and maybe she will respond soon to one of your PMs. Thinking happy thoughts!!!:goodvibes

Hey everyone! Sorry I've been MIA for a few days. We've been working on our house in hopes of putting it on the market in a couple of weeks. I always wondered why we fix houses up just in time to sell it... Oh well, hopefully we'll get a better price!
I'm so sorry about the drama going on, Harley! I hope everything is a misunderstanding! :grouphug:

We are trying to change Elliott's sleep schedule during the day right now. He takes a very long nap in the morning, usually 2 and a half to 3 hours, but in the afternoon, he catnaps a few times, usually for a total of an hour to an hour and a half. Because of that, he is crabby usually about 7 at night, so he takes another catnap for like 20 minutes. His sitter and I are going to work at getting him to sleep less for his morning nap, but then to have his afternoon nap be a nice length. Hopefully this will work! I wanted to go work out last night, but it was fussy time right before I left, so I ended up staying with Elliott.

Oh my gosh that is so Carys. Actually she is still sleeping from her morning nap now. She doesn't sleep at all in the afternoon, sometimes just 5-10 minutes here or there. She gets really frustrated because she wants to sleep, but she just can't or won't. She has been sleeping through the night though,a couple nights here or there she will get up once, but at least the last 2 nights she has slept solidly. Last night was 7:30pm to 6:30 am! crazy. So I'm ok if she doesn't sleep during the day if it means she will sleep at night. Now that I'm typing this I have probably jinxed myself

Elliott has been sleeping through the night for the last probably 2 and a half to 3 weeks. I just hope this works for us!

I hope the house sells quickly!

When I read nearly every baby sleep book, I remember quite a few of them saying that MANY babies do this and grow out of it on their own pretty quickly. Good luck!!

Sarah, it's not just you. I've not responded to the last 7 messages I've gotten on Facebook. Including those from 2 moms of my friends, my brother's Australian girlfriend (I feel pretty bad about that one), Veronica, etc...

I don't know why but I don't respond if I don't feel like I have time to sit and answer it. So I've ignored several for a few months. Like Kristen on here. Poor girl sent me a PM and I've yet to respond. I think I accidentally deleted hers, actually, because my PM box got so full.

I JUST FINISHED MY LAST ASSIGNMENT! I am officially done with the semester.

Now it is time to finish cleaning my house and packing. I've got 2 days and a crap ton of laundry, packing and other various assorted tasks to complete. Gotta go feed my parent's cat later tonight and again on Thursday. My father thinks that she gets lonely. :rotfl:
Hopefully I can get the oil changed in the Jeep before we head out. It's been "yelling" at me for awhile now...

Lucas got tired of waiting on me to empty the vacuum filter last night. When I came back in this is how I found him:

Pony was purchased at a consignment sale Friday for $15. Score on my part, he LOVES that pony.

Hi Guys ... I think I joined you back when I PG or when Ryan was first born but I have just lost track of time!! :-)

Sarah - I read back a few pages and looked on Facebook ... I don't see anything bad. I know Patsy has been super busy the last week or so, maybe she just hasn't had a chance to catch up. Either way ... neither of you should go anywhere.

I can't believe how big the kids are getting! Crazy.

Ryan is 6 weeks old now. It's been crazy. He has reflux and a milk protien intolerance so we have been working on finding a formula that works and a med. that is working. Right now we are on two weeks of Alimentum RTF and one full week of Prilosec. We had a good Saturday, ok Sunday and Monday and today is rough. I am worried that the Prilosec is breaking down since there are a bunch of studies that show Prilosec compounded by the pharmacy is only stable for 5-7 v. the 30 they tell you. Fun times.

He was eating every 1.5 hours every night but now is up to 2.5 -3 hours. Still tiring. Today he has been eating 4-5oz every two hours like clock work and sleeping most of the rest of the time so I am hoping beyond hope that he is preparing to go a little longer at night. I can't seem to get a routine going for him though at bedtime. My ODS, Alex (3), goes to bed by 8pm and we eat dinner around 6:30pm. I just can't seem to find a spot in there to get Ryan on a routine either.

So you're not mad at me? :flower3::hug: Did I get deleted on FB by mistake?

Yay! Congrats on finishing the semester!!

That is quite possibly the cutest picture I've ever seen! (And I'm not just trying to butter you up! :thumbsup2 really!)
:flower3::flower3::flower3: Really!:flower3::flower3:

Welcome back!
Thanks for looking for me. I just feel like I'm going crazy! :hippie:
:teeth: He's adorable! Sorry about the reflux issues! Isn't it weird how we never heard of any babies having reflux and now it seems like sooo many do? It's weird!! I hope you all get it worked out soon! :grouphug:

He had his hands wrapped around the ears,

I tip-toed in the house so I could grab a picture without waking him up :rotfl:

Those are so adorable! He's such a chunker, I love it! :-) I don't want Ryan to get bigger but I can't wait for him to get bigger!

Hey guys! I noticed the Moms to Toddlers thread has a very active group on Facebook. I made us a group too! I thought it would be nice to be able to talk to each other on there in the context of being friends on here.

So I'm trying to make sure I invite everyone and I'll post a link to the group when I'm done with that, so we can all find it.

I just saw it on FB a few minutes ago. I requested to join :-) I saw the toddler one and thought it would be great to have one too. THANKS!!!

I think it explains why their thread doesn't pop up as much on here, they're all talking on FB! :teeth:

Christina - I know I've told you that Scarlett is on Prevacid, but if you haven't tried that yet, I would ask about it. It's the same basic principle as the Prilosec but it comes in pill form so it doesn't need to be compounded. The pill is super soft so we just hold it in Scarlett's mouth and crush it into a powder. Or, if you have more patience and a more tolerating baby, you can hold it under his tongue till it dissolves. She takes 1/4 pill in the morning and 1/4 pill at night and I just break it into quarters with my hands if that shows you how soft it is. It's also a cherry flavor (not mint like the Zantac liquid) so I don't feel as bad about forcing her to take it as I did with the Zantac.

I don't know if this will help you at all, but maybe try getting Ryan into bed at 7:30pm if Alex can play on his own for a bit? Then you'll have him out of the way and can do whatever your routine is with Alex without the baby interfering? Thinking back to when Henry was a baby and Madison was 2.5yo (so slightly younger than Alex), I'd put Henry to bed 6-6:30, then we'd eat dinner and do Madison's routine to have her in bed at 7:30. I realize my kids go to bed pretty early (in fact at 6yo and 3.5yo, both have been in bed for 30 minutes and it's just now 8pm), so that's why I said eat first then put Ryan down.

Patsy - Super cute photo! I love how he's holding onto the ears.

BabyTigger - How are you planning to change the nap schedule? Scarlett takes one big nap from 10-1 and then a bunch of smaller ones (I think I said this here before). I would love to condense some of the smaller ones, or even break up the bigger one to be, for example, 10-12, then maybe another one from 2-4? But I have no idea how to do it. I sometimes have to wake Scarlett at 12 to get my son from school, but it doesn't make her take a longer afternoon nap, just makes her more grouchy and irritable.

With the 7pm catnap, have you tried just putting him down for the night then? That was how both my son and Scarlett got this early bedtime. They were napping around 6pm, then fussy shortly after waking up (around 6:30pm) and I was thinking it was hunger or boredom. Once I moved the bedtime routine up to coincide with that nap they just started sleeping for the night from there.

Adi - Don't worry, my first kid never slept, so I feel like I deserved the last two's sleeping habits! And I will be borrowing your Facebook links about rearfacing, if that's okay with you.

We were in Puerto Rico from Thursday till last night and because our flight got in late Scarlett did not get to bed remotely on time and was therefore up on and off all night. Then we were out of the house all day today so she barely got any sleep the either. I am hoping she is back to normal tonight cause I'm a tired Mommy today!

Justine - What time does Scarlett get up with that early bedtime? And/Or what time did Henry and Madison get up when they were going to bed at 6:30PM? Ryan is also ready for sleep between 6:30-7pm ... trying to time the Prilosec with his nighttime cluster feeding and his bedtime bottle has been difficult too so we are trying to keep a hungry and tired baby awake.

We have trouble with Alex sleeping too ... he goes to bed by 8pm most night and is up around 7am but he wakes at least once during the night either requesting one of us to lay with, with a screaming night terror, wanting milk or after wetting his bed. He is usually back to sleep within 15-30 minutes though. However, by 9am he is EXHAUSTED laying around on the couch sucking his thumb. If we go anywhere after 2pm, it's almost a gaurantee that he will fall asleep in the car but HE WILL NOT nap at home anymore. We dropped naps a few months ago because his nighttime sleep was horrendous. Once we did that he started sleeping better then when I went to have Ryan he started this waking thing. Argh ... I am actually thinking HE needs an earlier bedtime too.

If only DH could be done with work and we could eat dinner at 4:30!!
