I am looking for the newest and cleanest hotels/resorts on and off Disney World property. My DDprincess: is very susceptible to getting any kind of respiratory illness, even a simple cold could be life threatening. I would like to try to reduce her risk to exposure as much as possible.
Thank you in advnace for any help/ideas/ suggestions.

The "newest" hotel on property is Pop Century. It is a Value resort therefore heavily used. A suggestion for you, choose which hotel you want to stay in and when you call to make the ressies have them note you need a special cleaning. I would then call the houskeeping manager at the hotel and speak to them about your needs.
We checked into Movies a few months ago and housekeeping could not have been nicer! They went over with me exactly what they use to clean. They made it a very enjoyable stay (with no health issues!)

If a simple cold could be life threatening, it's going to take a lot more than a specially cleaned room to keep her safe, but I'm sure you're well aware of that. Can you bring an air purifier for her, one of those battery operated ones? You're going to be exposed to a ton more germs at the parks than in the hotel room, BTW. I'm sure you're stocked up on sanitizer wipes for the attraction vehicles, restrooms, etc. Could she wear a mask for more protection?

Thank you all who posted.
YES- I am well aware of the risks just going out into the park and being around other people. I do have lots of wipes, hand sanitizer, gloves, masks
and i plan to bring an air purifier. The problem is in the air ducts. Older hotels will carry more germs. We have been to disney several times and have noticed a difference in older, less clean rooms. Talking to housekeeping ahead of time is a great idea too.
We plan to go when the parks are less crowded. I'm just trying to reduce the risks as much as possible. My DD LOVES disney! It's the only place she feels like a normal little girl.
How about Sarotoga Springs? Is that one of the newer resorts?
I heard there might be a new Hampton Inn opening soon off property?

Any more thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.
THANKS!

Can you get some kind of filter to put in front of the vents? You'd have to find out the size, shape, etc, ahead of time, but you could fasten them on with sticky-back magnetic strips.

Saratogo Springs is the newest. Some of the buildings were just finished in the last year. Active construction brings its own risks because of soil germs that can be stirred up during construction.

Another thing to think about is travel to the park you want to go to. SSR means a bus to each park and since it is a big resort, the buses might be pretty full. I would personally be more concerned about that than the heating and air conditioning vents (being an Infection Control Nurse, I would be more concerned about the airborne or droplet germs in a small, shared airspace like the bus).
If you want to avoid as much exposure to other passengers during the trip to the parks, I'd suggest staying close to the park where you are going to be spending the most time.
BC, Yacht Club and Boardwalk are all walking distance or a boat ride away from Epcot and the Studios. They are not new, but less than 10-15 yrs old.
You can walk from Contemporary to MK, if you want to avoid the monorail. Contemporary is one of the oldest resorts on the property.
WL is maybe 10 yrs old and is a boat ride away from the MK.

Of course, if you have a car, you can avoid the WDW transportation. The only exception is MK, where the parking requires you to still take a boat or monorail from the Transportation and Ticket Center (where the parking lot trams deliver you) to the park.

I don't know anything about the Hampton Inn, but staying on site allows you to use EMH, which can mean less people. I'd also suggest that using a touring plan like TOur Guide Mike (a Theme Parks Board Sponsor) can help you to avoid the crowded places. He was a WDW VIP Tour Guide and knows what is busy and when so he can tell you where to go and when to avoid crowds.

THANKS again. You both gave me more things to consider.
 The vent filters are a GREAT idea! I should have thought of that.

We always drive so we will have our own transportation. We have met and have become friends with a few employees at disney and recieved some tips on avoiding the monorail to MK. We had to make a quick exit from MK during
fireworks on my DD's princess: very first visit. Well, you know how impossible it is to get down Main Street first of all and then the lines to the monorail on top of that. Never wanted to go through that again. It is so nice to park right outside the entrance to the other parks. MK is a nightmare when it comes to that. With all of the sick kids that visit MK you would think they would come up with a back entrance/exit for those with special needs.

I am well aware of the airborne/droplet germs and yes that is my biggest concern. That is a risk everywhere we go and it's a risk my DD is willing to take just to go to disney again. 2 years ago we made the mistake of going at christmas. It was a wonderful trip but my DDprincess: came back home with RSV. It almost killed her! I can't even believe she wants to go back. The weather was unseasonably COLD. Lots of people everywhere. But our resort room didn't help either. Also, Sea World is the dirtiest park I have ever been to and I will never go there again.

I will check into Tour Guide Mike. I'd never heard of that and he sounds the guy I need to chat with too.

Thanks again! DIS'ers are awesome!
