Can anyone tell me which are the newer hotels (2 or less years old) that are closest to WDW? Any suggestions of nice, new, less than $100 would be appreciated.
We will be spending a few nights off site in October but still would like to be close to the parks - we will only be visiting Disney parks this trip.
Myself, DH and 2 DDs. I was thinking a suite hotel would be nice or at least one that had a little more space to move around.
Any suggestions??????
Thanks!

Offhand, I can think of the brand new Gaylord Palms (very pricy tho), the two Marriott Residence Inn LBV and Seaworld, and the HIFS which is a couple years old.

Also the Lake Bryan Marriott complex of hotels...Fairfield Inn, Courtyard, Springhills suites.

Country Inn & Suites and Amerisuites Calyso Cay is about 15min. to Disney I belive, and it gets very good reviews here. Just tell them when you book you don't want to do the timeshare presentation and from what I've read they'll leave you alone. Part of it is still under construction, so it's pretty new. A poster here named FGoldberg is the Director of Sales there or something like that.;) Her name is Faye Goldberg. There are a couple of threads on here about the hotel. Hope that helps.

Cheers:)

The Caribe Royale is a suite resort with a wonderful pool and located minutes from WDW on World Center Drive. Mary at mousesavers.com has written a trip report on her recent visit to WDW this month and visited Caribe Royale. She says the resort is really nice and hopes to offer discounts through mousesavers in the future. If you get a chance check out her report. I have seen this resort from the outside and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there. I believe it is fairly new. Good luck in your serach, there are so many nice places to choose from!

Loved Country Inn And Suites at Calypso Cay Way. Took us less than 10 minutes to get from hotel, to parking lots of any of the WDW parks. Stayed in standard room for 39.50 with entertainment discount. If you need more room than that, stay at Amerisuites next door, they share a resort like area. Or get two adjoining rooms at Country Inn. That what I'll do my next stay.
All rooms have a small fridge and microwave.
Publix market was just three blocks away
Had a great breakfast included
Had a nice zero depth pool with a small/medium water slide. It opened in October 2001.
They had a shuttle to WDW, but I never rode it. Wanted the freedom of my car.

The hotels at Villages at Little Lake Bryan (Courtyard by Marriot, Fairfield and Springhill Suites) are new and very close to DD and easy drive to the parks.

The rooms are very large at the Courtyard and there is a small refrigerator in the room as well as queen beds. The Courtyard has an indoor/outdoor pool with a waterfall that separates them that you can swim under. The laundry facilities were great - never saw anyone in them but me and they provide free detergent.

The hotel is very clean and the staff very friendly. There is also a food court and arcade. This is in a gated area and the parking lot was well-lighted. I would feel safe here even if DH wasn't with me.

We would definitely stay here again

I am leaning towrds the Springhill Suites for a number of reasons:

- the place is, I believe, a little more than a year old, so how trashed can it be

- The room is not a true suite, but there are two seperate distinct areas. With two kids, I just need that "space"

- They include a "breakfeast", which could proabably be a little more than a bagel and coffee, but seeing how one will spend money at every turn in Orlando, a bagel and coffee could end up costing me about $20.. (being facetious, of course)

- I am under the impression that a residident can use any of the other hotel's amenities

- I am just tired of looking at hotel listings.

I would like yo know from first hand experience anyone that stayed at Springhill Suites .. what they thought.. how were the pool(s) ..., etc ..

Thanks

My daugther (age 8 at the time) and I stayed at Springhill Suites in October '01 for three nights (Columbus Day Holiday).

The pool was fine--my daughter really liked it. There is no slide, but there are fountains that splash water on you. Guests in any of the hotels may use the pool facilities of the other. The pool at the Courtyard is larger and is half indoors and half outdoors.

The room was a good size for us; you are correct, there is only partition separating the sleeping area from the 'living room.' This was sufficient for my family.

The breakfast consists of various cold cereals (in individual boxes), bagels and muffins, fresh fruit (bananas, apples and oranges), cream cheese, peanut butter packets, jelly for the bread, milk (plain and chocolate), coffee, tea, juice (orange and apple). You have to present your room key to obtain breakfast, and there were staff who would hand you the items you selected.

We enjoyed our stay and will be staying at Springhill again for four nights during our stay in August.

How about staying at the Marriot Residence Inn LBV near downtown disney.

a true 2 br 2 bath suite plus a big hot and cold breakfast, nice pool, can be had at quikbook.com for aobut $l05. nitely.

We staayed there last summer with my teens, and we had lots of space.

Each of your kids could have a queen bed and you a king bed.

This is a very good value, and the bkfst save us some big $.

This hotel is a year old. There is a new RI at Seaworld, but it's a little pricier.
