Newer disers with requests please read this .....

I would just like to ask that those newer to the boards please read the sticky thread "How to Ask for DISigns, Tips, FAQ's & Guidelines" that is above.

In the last few weeks I have had a multiple newer disers make requests for disigns, either by PMing me or requesting on my thread. I then start disigning for them, only to find them asking others for the same disign requests on different threads or starting a separate request thread for exactly what they asked me to do for them! These disigns are done for free to help spread the Disney pixie dust and can take many hours to complete depending on the requests. It is very dissappointing and disheartening to see people asking for the exact same disign in multiple different threads and is really against the rules of the boards. PLEASE don't request the same disigns from multiple disigners as it is wasting a lot time of some of us, and our time is precious just as yours is ..........

I hate to complain as I love doing the disigning, but this seems to be happening more and more and I am wondering if people aren't aware of the guidelines..... so please read thru the stickys at the top as they contain a lot of information that is very valuable!!

Lots of what you want is already out there and you could locate via the DISigners profiles.

The How To sticky is invaluable as well.

I'm guessing people don't want to take the time,but in doing that they are unknowingly wasting ours

the DISigners encourage all DISers to learn how to use the SEARCH function (particularly the advanced)

You can locate the threads or posts by user (including yourself) or do a keyword search.

Know you saw a DISign for something in particular but didn't bookmark or download?

Please do a search before you throw a new thread up on the boards.

Anything that you can do that takes very little time will help the DISigners who spend so much time doing for you!!

Hi,

Yes, you are right, although I have to admit I have great difficulty looking through the photobucket links, for example when I look in Marion's folder, I only see a few different pictures, however it states there is 1000's of pictures, but I get to see about 40 or 50 in total and then when I think I'm going into the biggie, I get the esty (not sure what that is) and ebay picture.

I do try the search facility, with limited success as sometimes the picture is a red cross and I don't like to request a picture without seeing what it actually looks like.

I have raised a couple of threads, which Amy and Marion have helped out massively with. I don't request off multiple people though, although I have a current request that seems to have went AWOL, and don't wish to be too pushy bit the disigner had a strange message on her thread about using via PM requests and not saw anything of her for a week or two.

sounds like you aren't getting into the subfolders where I have everything organized by category...and many of the subfolders have other subfolders.

if you click on "Back to Disney Stuff" you are returned to the top folder. Just look for the subfolders all the way to the right (or in same people's case, the left)

Please make sure that you place your request in the DISigner's correct request thread. I for one rarely revisit someone else's thread where I have posted a DISign upon request.

Sometimes I come across these requests in a DISer's thread but am sure I have missed many of them intended for me.

That is why I have my own request threads and why I have multiple ones that are categorized by type of request

and if a DISigner specifies that they have rules (usually in first post) please please please read them!! Will save much aggregation!

Once upon a time I found a Toy story mania DISign on 4shared. I can't find it again and was just wondering if Someone could point me in the right direction? I tried to pm the DISigner but I couldn't.

this thread is not for DISign requests so I suggest you create your own thread and await responses! and did you try the advanced search as mentioned earlier on the thread? try using only MANIA and see if that gets results.

For example, advanced search found this thread. (though the DISigner was having pc issues and it maybe hit or miss to get a request there. Another reason to start your own thread:

I know. I am hoping to not ask anyone to make something if one does in fact already exist I thought this was a beginners thread! Sorry! I'll keep looking before starting a new thread. Thank you for all these amazing DISigns! I have been having a ton of fun looking through them!

I'll repeat myself since the people who most need to look at this are apparently not doing so...

if a DISigner has request thread(s), please utilize them. They may not revisit your independent thread in time for your trip/event!

The problem I am having is that when use the search and find the correct thread, the DISigner has deleted that particular Disign and there is a photobucket square stating that the picture has been removed or deleted. That is very discouraging as a new user to DIS...

we can only maintain a certain number of images on Photobucket. In my case I place personalized DISigns in temporary folders and delete them after 2 months. Will probably have to move to 1 month since I have so much "stuff".

If you determine who the DISigner is you can always request on their thread or look in their PB for the image....

Thanks for the advice... I think it would be easier to PM for us "Earning our Ears". I took your advice went to the 'Introducing the DISigners' thread and looked through quite a few DISigner photobuckets & 4shared accounts until I DID find a DISign I had been looking for...
