Newby questions about magic bands, reservations etc...

Mornin' everyone!

I have a few questions about our 1st upcoming trip to WDW...our plans are kind of confusing lol...

day 1- check in AofA
day 2- Xmas party night at MK
day 3- Check out AofA - head to port for Disney Cruise
day 4-7 - Cruising
day 8- check in WBC for 12 nights- offsite accomm
day 9- start 10 day Disney passes (just the base passes, no hopping etc).

Questions are:
1. On MDE it has given me the opinion to choose/customize our magic band colours, for some reason I thought we would only get grey as they do not ship internationally and would need to be collected at check-in. Will they have coloured bands (and our names printed) available when we check-in if I customize?

2. Can the same magic bands that we receive at check-in be used for our park days? even though we will be off-site by the time we use the first day of the passes.

3. Check in at AofA is 3pm, if we get there earlier are we able to use the pools etc? is there a likely chance our room could be ready early (last weekend Nov)?

4. I am planning on purchasing our 10 day passes in advance. If I link them to MDE, they wont activate when we attend the Xmas party will they, if we arrive around 4pm?

4. Maybe. Can you get a physical ticket for the party and not link it to you MDE? Then use the physical ticket and not your bands for entry. If both tickets are linked, I'd stop at guest services to ensure the tickets are "prioritized" before entering the park.

I don't know the answer to this. Rare that an international visitor posts about their experience in that regard.

There is a ticket gate to one side, for 4pm (early) Xmas Party arrivals. Use that gate. It would be best to have your actual Xmas party tickets to scan at the gate. Then there should be no confusion about which ticket you used. But check MDE in the next day or so, just to be sure. It can be fixed by Park Guest Relations if your other ticket was used in error.

We've stayed there a few times. The best view we ever had was in building 2, lake side. Gorgeous view of the lake and 2 sets of fireworks! I kept pinching myself. Couldn't believe it was only $120/night! (This was one year in April, which is value season for WBC.)

You can also print out your Party tickets and use those to enter the Party at 4:00. You can use your MagicBands at the FP lines if you link your party tickets to MDE and book FPs to be used between 4 - 7p on the day of the party.
