sooo what am I looking at for damage??

My sister and I are goign to go to one of my neices hairdresers
since I haven't had a haircut since April I can splurdge a little...

Having gone to college in Boston many moons ago, I can't give you an estimate but it will be pricey. I got the best haircut of my life back in the 80's on Newbury St at the "Vidal Sasson" salon. It was very fancy and bankrupted my college student budget but it was worth it! Have a great time in Boston's Back Bay. I went to Emerson.

I've never had my haircut on Newbury St., but I would say $100+ depending on who is doing the cutting. I go to a place in Belmont and she just went up to $55.

basic haircut should run you about $75-90

A haircut on Newbury Street can run you anywhere from $55 to $300 and up. You probably should find out before you go to avoid any surprises!

wow, thats alot for a haircut. what is so special about this place?

Newbury street is for people with $$$, that's why I have never gone but would love to :Pinkbounc

I go to M salon on Newbury Street (actually it's on clarendon street which is the 3rd right off the beginning of Newbury St. He charges me $120 for a cut, color and blow dry. I have shoulder length hair. What a cut and style I love that place. My hair has never looked better since I've been going there.

That is actually less money than it cost me here on the Cape, ($155), so I feel I'm getting a better color, cut and style for a lot less!
I think all the salons and a lot of the stylist set their own price, so I would bring a couple of hundred dollars with you. A lot of places in Boston don't take credit cards, debit...some take personal checks and some just cash. That used to surprise me but I run into it a lot in salons and restaurants around there.

Have Fun!

ohhh thanks for the heads up on the cash thing!
Dh prefers I always use cash - but i have holes in my pockets  sp I try not to carry to much!

Since my neice doesn't have a TON of money (that I know of :confused3 ) I am going to assume that the hairdresser is on the lower end of he spectrum...

In the late 80's I had a friend who owned a salon on Newberry at the end near Newberry Comics. His name was Wes and he had a crush on my brother. He charged me $75.00 a pop and acted like he was doing me a favor. I can't imagine what he'd charge me now. I probably wouldn't be able to afford it.
I too went to Emerson, class of '92.

Wow, I feel old! I was class of 1983 and absolutely loved every moment I spent in Boston and at Emerson. Now my teenager is thinking of going there. Time flies.
