We went on 2 Disney Cruises and to Disney World last year and we are hooked :mickeyjum:lovestruc

Onboard we talked to someone from DVC, but now at home we have still a few questions.

Our situation: we live in Europe and go to Disneyland Paris few times a year. We love cruising so thats something we also want to do more often.

Does anyone have an example how many points a disney cruise costs for 2 people for a week Carribean or for Disneyland Paris? Wich hotels are participate in Disneyland Paris?

We wont go every year to wdw but once in 2-3 years. Is the dvc worth it even if you dont go to wdw that much?

Are there contracts who are shorter than 50 years?

Are there more dvc members from europe beside the UK?

These are great questions. Typically your best use of DVC is to stay at DVC resorts. If you plan on going to WDW once every 2-3 years I would suggest buying a contract that is 1/2 to 1/3 of the amount of points you would need for that trip. That way you can bank points, use current year points and then borrow points from the next year to use three years worth of points for one stay. This eliminates the pressure that you might feel to go every year so that your points don't go to waste.

If you want to go to Disney in Paris or cruising, DVC is not the best way to do this. Usually, the most cost effective way is typically to pay for these trips with cash.

There are contracts out there right now with 30 years left on them (Boardwalk, Beach Club, Old Key West). Although these contracts can be purchased direct through Disney by going on a waiting list, you might be better off purchasing them via resale (there are many threads on this topic).

I think the real question is, does DVC work for you and the way you vacation? If you enjoy staying in hotel rooms or trying to get discounts at certain times of the year, DVC may not be for you. But if you like having your own kitchen or multiple bedrooms in a villa, DVC might be a great way for you to visit WDW.

Good luck with your decision! :)

Based on your post, IMO there isn't much benefit for you to own a DVC contract. You would be better off renting a reservation from an existing owner.
