Newbie with Questions

I hope I'm putting this in the right folder..we are planning a trip the end of June and would like to stay in one of the dvc resorts (rented at OKW last year and loved it!). How do I go about this with the points? Is it I purchase them from an owner and then I can call disney reservations and go from there? I see that there is a point chart calculator to use to figure the points, if I want more than one member is selling am I allowed to purchase more from another member for the same trip? Sorry if I'm asking what may be repetitive questions, just don't want to get it wrong! Thanks in advance!

If you are renting points from a DVC member, you will not be able to make the reservations or talk to Member Services (MS) about the reservation. Only the DVC member is allowed to talk to MS.

Go to the rent/trade board and read all of the stickies to get started.

While it's often referred to as "renting points" you are really renting a reservation from a DVC member. They use their points to book your stay and you pay them whatever price you agree upon between the two of you. Members who advertise they have points for rent usually offer them at $X/point. To see how many points your reservation requires, click on the DVC Point Charts link at the top of this page. The points vary by resort, room type, view and travel dates.
