Hello!

Just joined your wonderful group. Have some questions that I hope a veteran can answer. We are part of DVC and our home resort is Saratoga. We have stayed at OKW and most recently Saratoga and Carribean Beach. My daughter might be heading to Orlando for a cheerleading comp 12/5 thru 12/8, but we won't know for sure until she has her qualifying competition on 11/25. :yay: THUS my problem, not much time to plan -- I usually plan for 1 - 2 years in advance. I have already banked my 2007 points and my anniv date is Feb.

Now to put you vets to the test... I'll fire off my list of questions....

1. First and most important is it too late to book my trip on the night of the 25th or the morning of the 26th? :hourglass

2. Any suggestions on how to handle the point problem?

3. Will I be able to get a vacation club resort or will we end up in a place like Carribean Beach without cooking facilities?

You might not have the answers - but I thought I would throw the life boat out there and see if anyone call pull us in!!! THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR EXPERTISE AND TIME!! :grouphug:

My first thought is to refer you to the DVC section of the board, those folks are brilliant when it comes to DVC questions.
As far as booking, I have done online booking of clients 6 days out, and 3 days out on a phone ressie. after that time, it can't be a package, but they can do rooms.

As far as getting a dvc resort, I guess that all depends, but if you are not using points it is quite pricey. You might be better of with a normal resort and buying food!

Good luck to your daughter!

I called in May to get a second room for the same week you are requesting and there wasn't a DVC room to be had--I was willing to take anything but there was nothing. Of course you can waitlist but I was trying to do multiple rooms so I ended up cancelling the original reservation and moving our group trip back to 2008.

If I were you I would call WDW and check availability as it stands right now so that you have a better idea of what to expect in 3-4 weeks when you know for sure if you are going.

This is a very busy time at WDW because of pop warner and the cheerleaders.
