Newbie with Question

We are new members! Yeah! and my parents joined right after we did as well!

We are very excited to take our first trip. We are planning on staying at Beach Club and in a two bedroom room. How does it go to divide points. We want to split the points equally. How does Disney do this? Who makes reservation? I am sure this is a simple question for you DVC experts but we are new and need help.

Also the DDP - everyone in the party has to do the DDP for the entire length of stay - correct?

Yes, everyone in the villa has to either be on or off the dining plan. You can't split it up among the guests.

Your other question has me puzzled. Do you mean that you and your parents plan to share a two bedroom villa and each wants to use their own points? You or your parents would have to transfer half the points to the other person and then the one with all the points would make the reservation for everyone. Or one family could get the reservation for half the days, the other family the rest of the days.

But......WHO GETS THE MASTER BEDROOM????

LOL! That is a good question.

Yes, we want to split the amount of points. So say it is going to cost 282 points total - we would kick in 141 points and my parents would kick in 141 points.

That would make sense that we would have to transfer points to one member and then make reservation. What happens if we can't use the reservation? Can we transfer them back?

All transfers are final. Once done, you can't transfer them back.

Also keep in mind that you can only do one transfer per year.

You and your parents have two separate contracts, and the points can't be combined for a single reservation.

As an alternative to a transfer, you could do two separate reservations, and ask Member Services to link the reservations so that you don't have to move to another villa when you change to the next reservation.
