We are planning to trip in May with our little girl (15 months then) and want to stay inside this time. We have been 4 times before, but always stayed outside WDW. What resort hotel do you recommend for the best views of fireworks at night?

Welcome to the DIS.

If money is no object, I think Polynesian would work great for you. You'll be on the monorail line and can get a view of the MK and fireworks.

Good luck deciding.

We saw "Wishes" from our balcony at the Wilderness Lodge this past trip. It depends on your budget though. Both the Polynesian and WL are deluxe resorts.

I would say if you are basing strictly on the best view of the fireworks (I assume you mean MK fireworks) - I would recommend Contemporary Resort, Tower Room with an MK view.

Here's a vote for the Grand Floridian. Our room had a wonderful view of the castle and fireworks...but even if your room doesn't, you can watch them from anywhere on the GF grounds. The boat dock there offered a perfect view, and no crowds!
