Greetings and what a wonderful site...I am brand new to the site....

I am thinking of taking the family to Vero in June for our summer trip. I was thinking about a 5 or 6 night stay but was wondering if that is too long a trip?

Here are my random thoughts:
-Will we get bored? One son is 6 and the other is 18 months.
-Should we make the stay perhaps 4 nights and maybe do a Disney Cruise for 3 days? The thought of all of us trying to sleep in a tiny room on a cruise ship is a bit daunting, but we did fine at the Poly in December.
-Is the water pretty?
-I was thinking of other resorts in Florida on the West Coast (Hyatt Bonita Springs/La Playa but also Club Med Sandpiper in St. Lucie) but am so sold on Disney for the kids I know it will be a fun experience.

Going back to WDW in Oct so don't need to go there in June.

Hopefully this is the right board to post in. I'm not a DVC member.

THANKS FOR ALL HELP!!!!

Welcome Rfolmar,

I don't know if I can answer any of you questions for you. We stayed at VB two years ago with our 2 girls (10 and 4) for 5 nights and really enjoyed our stay. Our 10 yo enjoyed it more then WDW.

If your 18 month old likes sand then your all set. My first didn't like sand at that age. Made our trip to the gulf a little tricky.

Hope you have a good time what ever you choose.

Vero is awesome. Will you be bored? Depends on what you like. If you like hanging by the pool or beach and relaxing for five/six days you'll be fine. There is tons of activities for the kids each day. The beach is great. There is a mini golf (9 holes) course right next to the pool. They have pool games, and a small kids water play area. IMHO the Vero Pool slide is the best at any DVC resorts. It's long and fast. There are four on site resturants which is a lot for a resort of it's size. Enjoy:woohoo: :yay:

I was born in Tucson, AZ. My mother said I cried and was afraid of grass when she first sat me on it.... Still prefer sand. :)

We have been going to Vero every year for two weeks since my DD10 was one. We now have have another daughter who is 4. We have NEVER been bored. Actually, I have to admit to getting a little misty when it was time to go :sad1:

My girls prefer Vero to going to the parks. I think they find the parks a little stressful. We still do the parks but only for a couple of days and then relax at Vero. I think the turtles might even be nesting at the time you are going.

No question... the last day is the sad day.

You must have a wealth of info on Vb :worship: Hope you'll visit our VB info thread occasionally to add to the thread.
