We've taken many trips to Orlando, but always to WDW. This time, we decided to spend 1 day at US. My questions are...#1-Where can I get the best 1 day ticket price? #2-What are the "don't miss" attractions? We will be there at the end of Sept., just my hubby and me (50-somethings) I appreciate any advice from all of the experts! Thanks!

I am not an expert and in the UK, so double check, but it looks like the best ticket rates are if you buy on the internet from their site as you get extra days free. O love universal, it is very different from Disney, buit I'm not an expert on the don't miss things,....not been there long enough yet!

if you are planning to visit two parks in one day, there is a special ticket on the website... i had trouble finding it but eventually did... it's not a "common" ticket and i believe the price is around $77/person...

try www.univacations.com click "tickets only" and it will say "one night" but disregard and go thru the process 'til you find the list of ticket options, halfway down is the 1 day/2 park choice...

Cool. Let me ask you: are you also going to go to IOA?

Well, the must do rides @ USF in my opinion, are:
Revenge of the Mummy - Great, thrilling ride
Men in Black : Alien Attack - Cool ride. Very interactive.
Jaws - Some people say it's not that good, but if you sit on the far left side near the middle, you get the best experience, and that makes it very cool.
Shrek 4D - This is a great ride, and it was much better than I expected. The seats move, and there's loads of 4D effects.

Are you going w/ kids?

Let me know if you need the must-do rides @ IOA or if you want to know what rides kids will like.

Have a great time!

For me - a lot of visiting this park has to do with the fact that many of the attractions are from movies that I am a big fan of like Twister, Jaws, Mummy and so on -
My personal favorites:
Mummy - best attraction in the park
Twister - love everything about this attraction - the reproduction of the movie is amazing
Terminator - :3dglasses - great attraction.
Jaws - it's personal - big fan of the first two movies.

Other opinions:
Back to the Future - jerky movement - bad on the back.
Earthquake - just takes a while to actually get on the "ride" part - but very cool!
Horror Make- up Show - I really enjoyed this - not many people mention it - if you have the time to fit in I definitely recommend it.
I enjoyed Jimmy Neutron way better than Shrek (just my opinion; Shrek was not bad at all) - if you know the Nickelodeon characters it is a lot of fun.

Dining - Lombard's Landing without a doubt -
Any other ? ask away!
Have a great time! :wave2:

I would buy a 2 day pass, and save one for another trip, it almost makes you feel like you are going for free next time! My fav restaurant is Margaritaville on citiwalk.

i was considering a 2 day pass but the fine print said it expires 7 days from activation... i could not find a no-expiry option...

Thanks so much for all the info.Sept 27 will be here before we know it!

There are loads of things to do at universal, if you get there early (even when we went in the summer) you could practicly walk onto anyride! Here is my loadown on the rides i liked:

- Revenge of the Mummy - amazing, a must do at least once!
- Men in Black- Amazing, a must do, great family fun with a hint of competitiveness (i alwys come 2nd!)
- Jaws- An absoulte must! Slightly scary for young kids (sit them on the inside) but it is a winner every time
-Earthquake- Great, it has loads of action, but is also scarry for small children, if you must take them on, sit them on inside.
- Shrek 4D- my opinon is crud, i really didnt like it, the seats moved, which made me feel ill,and didnt move in sinc with the film. The story is badly done and not very funny. I wouldnt go on it again, and if i did it would be on an unmoving seat, which are certain rows. Good just to see tho
- Twister - didnt enjoy it as a young child, it freaked the heck outa me. I have never returned to it!

We didnt do any shows, it was too hot, but we enjoyed the time spent there

The two day pass /get third day free does expire but the regular 2 day pass does not.

You can get a one day/two park ticket at the gate for $69.95 plus tax.
