Newbie to RV'ing

Hi All,
New to this section of The DIS. My Mom and her BF are just venturing into RV'ing. They bought a 2002 Keystone Everest 5th Wheel ( and a 2002 Dodge 3500 dually as the tow vehicle, they came as a set). Hopefully they will pick it up this week. Any recommendations of websites, books, clubs, organizations they should look into? I think they already joined Good Sams. I am a tent camper, so my knowledge of RV's is limited. We are all headed to the Adorondacks at the end of month, and are very excited.

For non-Disney RVing information, there is a ton of good info on the RV.net forums. Keep in mind there are also a ton of opinionated people there, but filter them out and there is a lot to learn over there.

If they will camp in private campgrounds the Good Sam membership you mentioned will pay for itself in one or two stays. If they will be heading to Federal campgrounds, like COE parks, they can search and reserve sites at Recreation.gov.

If they plan on traveling the interstates a lot, there is a book called The Next Exit which is geared toward RVers and lists every interchange in the US and what is there. They list gas stations, restaurants, Walmarts, etc... and tell you which are easily accessible by RVs. I really like that book.

I agree with DaveInTN on RV.net. Personally I've had better luck with rv questions here.

I'll throw in another vote for rv.net. Another forum I've participated in that also has good info is irv2.com.

there are also a number of dodge diesel related forums that have information on your tow vehicle. I can't remember them off the top of my head. I have a Ford diesel so the Dodge sites don't do me a lot of good.
