So I'm thinking about tent camping at Fort Wilderness in February. I will be running in the Princess Half Marathon. I've always stayed at the All Star Sports for my previous races but I'm seriously thinking of camping. I've been to the resort but never stayed there so I'm familiar on what it looks like but I have a few questions before I make my decision for sure.

1. Why are there no tent campsites available the weekend of February 21-24? Seems odd to me that there would be no availablity this time of year. There are other campsites available just not tent sites.

2. Can I have two tents on a campsite?

3. What are the bathrooms like? I'm assuming they are as nice as other Disney Resort bathrooms.

4. Should I reserve a particular campsite? Any better than others?
I would like something kinda private and quiet.

Welcome! The Fort is great!
Try expanding your timeframe. I checked for tent site feb 19-27 and there was availability. Once you get the reservation you can call Disney to cancel the days you don't want...
You can have 2 tents on the site
Comfort stations are great, clean, heated and nice showers.
Can't answer on which of the tent loops is quieter since I didn't tent camp on them.
Hope this helps.....

Like DisneyPeach said, try up to a 30-day ressie to get a Tent/Partial site. You're looking at President's Day Weekends and the weather is great from early Feb to late Apr so weekends are particulary busy in the tent sites.

2. Can I have two tents on a campsite?

Yes, you can up to the 10 person per site limit.

3. What are the bathrooms like? I'm assuming they are as nice as other Disney Resort bathrooms.

They are really nice. There are Comfort Stations with Mens and Womens sides and a Laundry area in between. There are about 4 showers per side, 3 sinks, and 2 toilets each side. My DW says the women take longer to get ready in the mornings but what do I know? I'm a guy. :confused3

If you rent a Tent/Partial site your loops are either 1500 or 2000. Of the 2, 2000 has two Comfort Stations and is more remote. Its sites are also larger than 1500.

Good luck with the run. I did the Disney 5k-10k-Half-Whole nearly 10 years ago. Run to have fun..

PS - on #1, look for up to a 30-day window to get the type of site you want. If you can get one, take it, then a few days later drop the unwanted days. Disney's ressie system is pre-disposed to turn down a 3-day window but accept a 30-day window which includes the original 3 days you were looking for. A room-only ressie requires a one night deposit so there is no penalty to booking long, dropping the unneeded, and ending up with the ressie you wanted in the first place. DisneyPeach is so on target as always.

We were at the Fort Sept.-Oct. last year and DW took these pics of the bathroom.

The last pic is of the shower area, there are 2 parts to the shower, the first area has a locking door and is a changing area, then there is the shower stall that is separated from the change area with a curtain.

We stayed in the 2000 loop and yes there is 2 comfort stations, one up by the entrance to the loop and the bus stop, and the other is centrally located in the loop. The 2000 loop is away from all the other loops and you don't have as much bus or other noise that is associated with the rest of the Fort. Sites are bigger and there is more sites in the 2000 loop than in the 1500.
