First trip ever to DL, this is what I have planned so far:

Sunday July 17 - BBB reservations at 9:00 am
- Ariel's grotto lunch at 11:40 am

I have the castle package booked for DD, takes about an hour. I have recently read somewhere that at DCA there is a parade at 11:00 am (Hollywood Blvd) and to make sure to get past there before or you will be stuck until it is over. So if BBB is over right at 10 that gives me a half hour to get to Ariel's grotto from BBB, is this doable? And would you really by stuck and not be able to get by?

Mon July 18 - Minnie & Friends breakfast @ 8:30 am.

Q. We are driving what time would be safe to show up for parking, right at 7 am. We don't want to miss our reservation. It's not a MM. I am thinking that would give us lots of time to park and wait in line.

In addition to Sun 7/17 & Mon 7/18, what days are you visiting DLR?

Are you staying on site?

How many kids & how old?

First trip ever to DL,

Welcome to Walt's Park :hippie:....have you been to WDW?

I'll let the princess moms answer these :).

Why 8:30am??

Q. We are driving

From where?

what time would be safe to show up for parking, right at 7 am.

Which day?

We don't want to miss our reservation. It's not a MM

If you're talking about Monday, then correct.....it's not MM.

I am thinking that would give us lots of time to park and wait in line.

I think we need a little more info:

How many total days will you be there?

Have you read Hydroguy's & Mary Jo's tip threads?

It looks like you're possibly using one precious early morning for BBB/Princess activities. Are you considering using up another precious early morning for a character meal??

If visiting 3 days or less, you might want to move Minnies B'fast back to 10:30am so you use the first 2.5 hours to ride slow loading rides in uncrowded bliss (& pick up 3 FPs).....THEN have b'fast.

& fwiw, I'd move that BBB back to after 11am too (for the same reason), but i don't know how that princess stuff works.....so maybe you have to do that stuff early ;)

But answer some of the questions above, so others will offer opinions.

:)

No, but will do now, Thank you :)

I plan on using our early entry on Tues, to do a lot of rides!!

I've thought of that, still debating.

I wanted to do the BBB early so she will be dressed up for her lunch with Ariel and the rest of the princesses :cutie:

I figured it would be better to drive, because I've heard so much negative things about the ART, plus our Disney Tickets include free parking.

Here's two informative threads for the DLR newbie:

HydroGuy's DLR for the WDW veteran tip thread.

Also, lots of good info for the WDW vet in Mary Jo's tip thread:

The rest of Hydroguy's threads are also recommended as well.

Cool.

- You get one MM (that you will use to enjoy fantasyland rides).

- & you get 4 total days in the parks. (i was afraid you only had two).

- I'll let the princess experts answer questions regarding the first day activities, but since you have 3 other days to hit DL early.....It sounds like a great first day for DD doing the princess stuff :).

- But I'd still move the Minnies character meal to 10:30am. All rides that your kids might enjoy are best enjoyed the first two hours at DL. Have a snack at the turnstiles (or in the room) & then have a big meal at 10:30am. :thumbsup2

- Regarding "driving & parking". Hydroguy has sometimes recommended that for families like yours (or any family). Possibly have hubby drop the 3 of you off at the "drop off" & then:

1) You go through security & then to one of the turnstile lines. (if he drops you off at 7 - 7:15am, you'll be one of the first 5-10 families in one of turnstile lines)
2) Hubby parks & then meets up with you in the turnstile line.

Have a great time! pirate:

Thanks for your input!! I was just reading Hydroguys tips, seems like a lot of work, haha! But I never thought of having hubby drop us off, that's great! Wouldn't people be peeved though if he cuts in line?

Your right about the breakfast I am going to phone and see if I can move it till later :)

I am bumping this hoping someone can answer this?

In DCA are there more than one way to get to Ariel's grotto??? Will the pixar parade keep me from getting to lunch at 11:30?? I believe the parade starts at 11:00 and stops at 12:00.

I would say 95% of people would not be peeved, especially since it is only one man (maybe they'll figure he had to use the restroom). The other peeved 5% probably won't say anything. I would do it if I were you, and I consider myself pretty considerate.

Two ways to get there. One is across the bridge by the red tower. The other way is all the way around Paradise Pier lagoon.

I agree. One person joining 3 others at the turnstile wouldn't be an issue.

If it was me, I'd ask the person (family) behind you (& you'll be with two toddlers :goodvibes).....if they'd mind if your hubby joins the three of you in line as he will be arriving in 5-10 min.

They'll probably say....."sure.....but let me have one of those muffins or donuts you're handing out to the kids". :lmao:
