We just took our first trip to WDW this fall....and well, now we are hooked.

i want to plan another trip for Nov 2006, and am exploring different options.
I am interested in renting points to stay at BWV or WL or POLY. My dates are 11-2 - 11-8. i can't find the info on when the vac club runs ar for Thurs. - Sun?

Any advice on the best way to do this is appreciated.

It is me- Dh - DS10 DD8 DS6 and DS2.

We might take friend that are a family of 5 and in that case would consider a grand villa.

If you want to stay at the POLY, you'll be much better off making your reservation for cash through CRO/WDWTC. While DVC members can use points to stay at the Poly, most will pay cash if they want to stay there because the Poly rooms cost more per night in points than does a 1 bedroom unit at a DVC resort.

If you are wondering about the number of points to stay at the VWL or the BWV, there are links to the point charts at the top of the page. Figure $10-$12 per point.

The VWL do not have Grand Villas, but the BWV does have them.

Friday and Saturday nights are more expensive than the Sunday through Thursday nights. The best "deals" are for 5 night stays that begin on a Sunday.

Best wishes -

Well since the Poly isn't a vacation club it would be quite expensive to do that.
Weekends are the most expensive and since that is also regular season you would need 312 points and that would run about $3120 on dates 11/2 - 11/8

BWV std view would run you 78 for a studio ($780-$936) 156 for a one bedroom($1560 - $1872)
Preferred view would be 94 for studio ($940 - $1128), 190 for a one bedroom ($1900- $2280)
Cost is 10-12 per point.

WL would be the same points and prices for the BW Preferred view.

You may want to check out the rent/trade board to see if anyone has any points avail to rent for this time frame.

Thanks for the info! Can you tell me if I am interpreting this right? A VWL 2 bedroom, at 32 points per night for 5 nights, figure I get lucky and get points for $10 each. This will only cost $1600? Am I missing something? Seems so low it is almost wrong.

Yes, it's 32 points per night as long as we are talking Sunday - Thursday. (Friday & Saturday nights are 61 points per night for early November dates).

So if you can find someone to rent you points for $10 each, you would only pay $1600 for your 5 nights. No extra tax on DVC point rentals.

You will not get daily housekeeping and the cancellation policy will almost certainly be more restrictive than Disney's. You will probably have to prepay as well - every owner's rental terms differ.

But yes, renting can be a very good deal. If you decide to go ahead, be sure your understand all the owner's terms before you committ.

Best wishes -

Grand Villas go quickly since there are so few of them. If you want a GV in November, you need to be booking it now.

Good luck and have a great vacation. :Pinkbounc
