Newbie: Reservation/Points Question

My husband and I finally took the plunge and bought 2 BWV contracts in December. One of those contracts has closed and has made its way into Disney's system. (I have my member ID number and can see my points on the dvcmember website.) The other contract, however, has not made its way into Disney's system. I bought both contracts through Jaki and **** and they tell me the second contract should be through the closing process soon.

I'm anxious to make my first reservation for December 2009. I want to do this right at the 11 month mark because I'm hoping for a grand villa during a really busy time. The problem is that I don't have enough points with just the one contract without borrowing points from 2010, and I don't want to borrow points. I want to use points from the second BWV contract instead.

So here's my question: will they let me make the reservation without having the points in my account as of the date the reservation is made?

If not, and I have to borrow points to make the reservation, can they be unborrowed (I think the answer to that is no).

no - ms can't know for sure until the contract is closed and points are on there system.

banking/borrowing - are one way only.

that say - you can borrow - but when you get the other contract bank it.

so you will be okay for 2010 - but everything would be in one contract not two.

Another thing to know about two separate contracts. You will not be able to use points from one and points from the other to make one night. In other words, if a single night is 25 points and you have 12 in one contract and 13 in the other, you would not be able to make the reservation without borrowing or transferring. You can't combine points from two different master contracts for a single night.

I didn't realize that (and wish I did before I bought two contract rather than one). That might get a bit complicated.

Guess I'll have to wait until the other is in the system - the good news is that I'll have only a couple of days to wait. I just heard from Jaki that our contract is closed and I should be in the system in a few days.

Are the two contracts the same Use Year? If so, it might be possible to have Disney set the second one up as an "add on" to the first one rather than as two separate masters. You should contact DVC Admin and tell them the second contract will be coming through soon and that you want the second one set up as an add on. If they have already set it up as a second master, they will not re-do it so call them today.

Again, this is only possible if the two contracts are the same Use Year month and titled exactly the same way.
