Newbie Questions

We are regular Disney visitors, but are going to US/IOA in 2013. I have a couple of questions:

1. Disney has value, moderate and deluxe resorts. Does US have similar catagories? What would the US hotels be comparable to?

2. Prior to DVC, we always booked each part of trip separately, resort/tickets etc. Is US the same? Do you save money booking separately or are packages through AAA a better deal money-wise.

3. Is a day for each park enough? I was thinking 3 days they we could revisit the attractions we liked on the third day.

Universal resorts are like deluxe. They have three resorts, Loews Royal Pacific Resort, Loews Portofino Resort, and Hard Rock Hotel.

It's better to book separate..

3 days would be perfect especially staying onsite.

Any thoughts on the feel of each the the resorts? A quick look at the website makes me think Portofino Bay, for no real good reason.

We like and always stay at RPR. We like the atmosphere and style. It's all about personal taste. PBH has the largest standard rooms followed by HRH and then RPR.

We do enjoy pool hoping to HRH but that's all we like about that hotel.

Our last trip we visited PBH and did not like it at all. But there goes the personal taste. It was too plain for us and did not feel warm. Plus it's the farthest away from the parks. HRH is the closest followed by RPR.
