We will be staying at Universal for the first time, and were wondering about how the tickets work. -

Do we purchase our park tickets and hotel as a package, in order to get the Express benefit, or is it some sort of seperate card? And do you get 1 day per night, or 1 day per night +1?

If it is seperate, I have heard of different deals - a 2-week ticket that covers several parks, a $99 ticket, etc. What are the options?

misc. details, if it matters - The working plan is to spend 2-3 days at Universal (2 adults and 1 child) followed by a week's visit with family near Orlando, during which we will be making a day-trip in to Aquatica (with 2-3 other adults).

Since you're going to be onsite, your hotel room card is your Express Plus pass which you will have to show each time. The park admission is separate and I would go with the $99.00 seven day ticket special...you can't beat it!

It is cheaper to get the hotel and tickets seperately and as stated, I would go with the $99 tickets. Remember one night at the hotel gives you two days of Express. The day you check in and the day you check out.

Thanks! I wanted to make sure I didn't have to book them together.
