Hello to all,
I am planning a trip to Orlando in July and i have no clue where to start so here goes, Myself and son (age 10). I have a dream of swimming with dolphins, so DC would be a nice start but dont think i can afford that price, so is "interaction with dolphins something different than the swim and would that be cheaper or is it same as swimming:confused3.

Ok Universal, my son is excited about that and its ok, except we both are a little scared of the big coaster rides, are there more exciting rides other than coasters unless we get our nerves up, we did ride expedition in Animal Kingdom, are the coasters worse than that???

Seaworld, are there rides to entertain a 10 yr old other than the shows that im excited for? Im thinking only 2 of the 3 parks to visit, so which 2 should we choose? Also i plan to stay in Rennassaince so will we need a rental car or is everything pretty much within shuttle distance including food?

Thanks and sorry so long:)

For dolphin interaction at SW you can feed the dolphins, recommend getting there early since they have a limited number of feedings and the line can get long quick.

At DC the only way to interact with the dolphins is through the swim, you can do a resort only trip which gets you everything but the dolphin swim.. With your DC ticket you get 14 days to SW and Aquatica (cool waterpark) plus your day is all inclusive. If you like SW and Aquatica and are in town for a few days then this helps make the cost of DC a little better to bear :)

Rides - well at SW mostly shows but they do have a couple rides other than coasters you guys would like. They have the simulator over at the Arctic area and then you have the water ride Journey to Atlantis (boat type with drop) and then the new penguin area will be open and I heard there is some type of ride there as well.

DD 10 loves SW and the 2 coasters there, but she loves coasters and will ride about anything. Manta is pretty intense since you lay flat on your stomach for the ride, pretty cool but might be a bit much if you are aren't used to coasters.

I saw you put US and there will be tons to do there, both DD 10 and DD 3 love it there. Lots off shows and rides that are not strict coasters so you guys should find many attractions to your liking. There are several that are a lot more intense than EE at WDW like Hulk, RRR, DD. But Spiderman, Men in Black, Simpsons and others would be good to go. You might like the Mummy too :)

Discovery cove is a splurge but last year it was our best vacation day ever ! keep in mind that with your Dicovery Cove purchase you get 14 day tickets to Seaworld and Aquatica (waterpark) and for an additional $20 you can add Busch Gardens Tampa. In my opinion that is a great deal ! we leave in 15 days and have booked Discovery Cove again and I cant wait. We also have 3 day US/IOA tickets and 4 day WDW tickets. US/IOA is fun and there is plenty to please a 10 yr old (my Daughter is 9 and loves it). whatever you choose have a great vacation.
