Hi everyone,

Avid Disney fan here, used to live down there. We have been the last 5 years but this will be the first in over 10 that we will be going to Universal and Islands.

Can someone explain to me how the child swap works at these parks?

Thanks

Everyone goes into the line, and at a certain point the non-riding kids and adult will go to the swap "holding" area. The riding adults/kids will go and ride, then they will follow signs to the swap area as they exit. Swap. Second group gets to ride.

Everyone goes through the line together. When you reach the boarding area, the person who is going to stay with the child and the child go into the child swap room and the rest of the party rides. When the party completes the ride, one person switches with the caregiver and the remaining party rides again.

Child swap at Universal is a lot different than Disney and not sure which one I like better, lol.

At universal, the whole family goes through the normal line, including pre shows, etc. Then the first rider goes and the rest wait in a specifically designed room for this purpose. Then they swap.

It was nice we could do the preshows together, however, DD4 was afraid of some of them, and we had to go through them together to utilize the child swap!
