Hi Everyone,

I'm getting married in July next year and OH and I had agreed to leave off having a honeymoon until the year after so that we could get the wedding paid for first.

What he doesn't know, is that I have saved up enough to pay for a honeymoon as well and I've just booked our dream Disney holiday as a surprise for him and present him with the tickets at the wedding (very excited even thinking about it!)

We've talked about a Disney holiday before but mostly as a thing somewhere in the distance. He never went as a kid, so it's a massive thing for him now (at age 32!!). I went when I was 11 and can't wait to go back to see what's new.

I'm really looking forward to using these forums as a place to get great information and be excited about my trip (since as I am going to struggle to keep it a secret from OH for the next 15 months!).

How exciting!

Congratulations on the your wedding.

Please ask away. Where are you staying?

Remember to pick up your badges saying just married when you get there and wear them.

You also see honeymooners (bride and groom) in the wedding ears - maybe you could get some and give them to him with the tickets.

Happy planning.

Thank you!!

We'll be staying at the Dolphin :)

I must get wedding ears!! I didn't know about them - where do I get them :D

They would be great to give him at the wedding - I am going to get a Mickey Mouse watch and leave it with the Best Man to give him when he's getting ready on the morning of the wedding. No one else will know about the trip so they can't give it away either. When I see him later, I'll ask him if he liked his present (he thinks he's getting a more expensive watch!) and tell him then ;)

I just hope I can keep it a secret. It was so hard being at the travel agent without him! I wanted to call him as soon as I came out!

At Disney is the best place to get them, we got married and honeymooned out there and it's fantastic! You will love it

Yes they sell them in the parks - my little girl got so excited if she saw a couple with them on.

maybe ebay or if someone you know who is going could get you some.

Wow, that's fantastic:cool1:

Good luck keeping it a secret - I coud never manage to do that as I would be too excited to keep it quiet! - and worried in case they had the same idea;)

Have fun planning it all:thumbsup2

Wow, i am amazed you can keep it a secret :thumbsup2 You have a very lucky future husband... hope you have fun planning your trip :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Thanks guys! I will have a look about on the internet for the ears, but might just hold off getting them until we arrive!

I've kept it a secret for 2 days now!! I thought it would get easier as the initial excitement of booking wore off, but it's not - if anything it's harder, every time I look at him I want to blurt out 'we're going to Disney!!!'.

I think he knows I'm up to something but for now I'm keeping zipped! :rolleyes1

What a fab surprise

I booked 2 nights at Beach Club Villas for us on our next trip - as a secret for DH - managed to keep it secret for all of a month :rotfl:

Happy planning - a wedding and a disneymoon :lovestruc.

Where are you staying?

Katie

congratulations!!
and well done on saving all that money!!!!!! :worship:

the year will zip by and the big day will be here before you know it!!! :goodvibes

Well done! What a fab surprise! :thumbsup2

You're going to have an awesome trip.

We're having a Disneymoon too - but 5 months after the wedding so that we can save up enough too ;)

I've left it two months between the wedding and the honeymoon, like you say it's more time to save, but also because I want to see my wedding pics back from the photographer before we go!

I just looked at your ticker - are we going on the same day?! :goodvibes

How lovely! :goodvibes

My (now ex) husband arranged our honeymoon as a week at the Poly and 4 nts Disney Magic cruise. It is truly wonderful getting a surprise like that - he gave me my tickets at the reception during his speech!

Good luck with all your planning :goodvibes

Claire :)

I know the feeling-no-one knows we're getting hitched! We're off to Gretna Green to do it! We'll tell our nearest and dearest just before-luckily they have already said we should just "go away and do it" so they won't be disappointed:hug: But I have to keep remembering not to say "Our Disneymoon" when I talk about our next trip!

It looks like we might be going on the same day!! How extraordinary ;-) We're off on the 8th Sept for 2 weeks! I'll be asking everyone I see in 'bride & groom' Mickey Ears hats or 'Just Married' badges if they're Viki from the DIS forum! :rotfl:

Aww congratulations! Good on you for having the wedding and honeymoon you want! I've probably caved into family pressure re: our wedding more than I'd have liked, though I hope it will still mostly be how we envisage it! Fingers crossed neither of us slips up between now and the Disneymoon - that's why I think it's so great to have somewhere like these forums to get the excitment fix!

Snap! 8-22 September!! What a co-incidence! Where are you staying (without meaning to sound like a wierdo!). If I get asked, I promise to reply with 'is that you Vaila Tigger?' :rotfl:

Ok this place is going to be the death of my secret - I nearly turned to OH as we were getting ready for bed last night and said 'oh, there's a lady on the Disney forums who's going to be having her honeymoon at the same time as us'. Need to stay more focussed!

Don't give the game away this early!! Just chat to us DIS-ers :thumbsup2

We're staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge :yay: Small wedding (30 people) BIG honeymoon! We will have been saving for around 2 years for both the wedding and honeymoon by the time next September comes around!

Looks like I'll need to wear a name badge for two weeks... :lmao:
