Newbie needs HELP?????????

If you don't like coasters or drops, there's still plenty of rides and shows for you :) there's also a mild coaster you may like - Flight of the Hippogriff (was Flight of the Unicorn).

You will have the new Harry Potter to look forward to!
Here's the new brochure: http://www.universalorlandovacations.com/pdf/2010_UNI_brochure.PDF

Also, just to add, on Popeye and Bluto's white water rafting, they allow you to put backpacks etc. in a sealed plastic container in the centre of each raft, so you don't need to worry about things getting wet :)

I actually may stay at Disney while they are there !! But IF the girls BFF doesn't go I will !! The girls will LOVE all the coasters and Kyle will prolly want to stay at thr Resort Pool ALL day!!!:scared1::rotfl2:

I thought it was pretty intense for a "kiddie" coaster...much better than The Barnstormer. :thumbsup2

Bumping this up for some more great input from you experts !!! The hang up I see is which mode of transportation to use !!! If we rent a car it is not cheap for 2 or 3 days and the parking !!! BUT we or they could eat off site , so that would save money too !!! Oh decisions !!!

Can you really reuse cups year after year? Is it still the red one?
Wowzers that's going to save us $14 buying new ones, figured they'd change the design so you'd have to buy one each visit. :thumbsup2

any mug you buy at the parks is considered a reuseable mug.
i still bring my dueling dragon mug of 11 years with me......
love the super refill discounts!

my plastic straw was on it's last legs and the TM replaced it for free for me on my last trip.

buy the style of mug you want.
bring it with you on your vacation.
the cheap refills are only allowed in the park.

i bought one that had a handle so i could loop it on a strap.
i can carry it everywhere with me.

for the rides that do not allow carry ons, use the free lockers.
if you go past the time period, any TM in that locker section can open the locker for you.
kind of difficult to open a locker when your money is inside that locker.

fill me in on the background as i am not aware of how many in your traveling group and if you are coming from the motherland to the darkside.

(or if you are coming from the airport for a short stay.)

i have rented cars before when it was 4 in my group.
we stayed onsite for 5 days and the car sat in the parking lot for most of the time.
we had good intentions of going off site for dinner buffets but only managed that once.

after paying for parking at the hotel, the rental car and gas, we would have been ahead if we stuck with car service or taxis on that trip.

mears is a choice for travel from the airport to the hotel.
also available for hotel to hotel on day trips.

if this is the first time for you at universal and you are only going to be there for 2 days, possibly 3, you might not want to venture off the resort site for meals.

no one knows yet how the crowd pattern will be once parry hotter opens up.
what we consider an ideal time for lower crowds might change once it all happens.

leave the park and drive to a restaurant, sit eat and relax, will take up a couple of hours each time.

you have to ask yourself, what is your priority.
time in the parks and cover it all or less time in the parks and eat off site.

There would be 5 of us !!Which is another reason car rentals are high as we would need a minivan !!! I really think the taxi type services are the route to go !!! With a grocery stop for water , pop and snax and some breakfast food !! Then eat in the parks or on Citywalk!!!

Is there anywhere with more current menu pricing !!! The allears ones are years old !!!!! Are the refillable mugs still $6.99 !!And refills are how much?? !!

I have been checking out packages !!! I am seeing a free breakfast at the Three Broomsticks at IOA in the new HP section !! Here is my question it is saying you get the free breakfast on the first morning !! Now how cah anyone do that when they are flying in ?? Also how would you be able to check in and get to the breakfast even if you couls arrive before 8am !!!???

If you are worried about prices of car rental, there are plenty of taxis at the taxi stand at the entrance to Universal and for pretty cheap you can go to any of the restaurants on International Drive which has a lot of restaurants. Price of that taxi will depend on which bit you are going to, north will be around $10 round trip (I guessing here based on what I've paid previously) and south I drive would be nearer $20. But for 5 people I'd say that's good value in comparison to renting a minibus, plus parking.
