Newbie needing help

Hi, please could an experienced DVCer tell me what my options (if any are). We are about to close on 250 BCV points - our first points. We have flights booked from Oct 24- Nov 6 already. Obvs we have missed 11 and 7 month mark already.

Is there any chance we will be able to use any points? Even okw or ssr? Or by waitlisting? We normally stay in more than 1 resort so don't mind moving. What would you do? We could just pay cash and bank points but as we have just got them we would quite like to use them. Any ideas?

1st congrats on joining DVC! 2nd Do you have an existing reservation anywhere (in or out of Disney) for the period you mentioned, so that if using points doesn't pan out you at least have a place to stay?

As soon as you can, try and reserve using points, and waitlist if not all the days are available or even worse there's nothing available. You may find availability at different resorts using different accomodations, if you want to use points during this busy period you will have to be flexible but it's doable. If that doesn't work then you still have a place to stay somewhere else and you can use your points on your next vacation!

We just had a treehouse villa waitlist come through for October 28 to 31st, so something should be available for you. We had a dedicated 2 bedroom at SSR before the waitlist came though. You should get something nice and if SSR is OK, you most likely won't have to move.

As the previous post mentioned, the wait list often come through. Put yourself on the wait list but have another plan just in case.

DH and I closed in January on 200 BLT points and were able to get a standard studio at SSR for the last week in May (so about 5 months in advance). There were also a few split-stay options available. Hopefully you'll get something, it's always worth a try - good luck!
