Newbie Making a reservation question

This will be my first time making a ressie at the 11 month window and it will be for a 2 bedroom BCV villa with 2 queens. I understand reservations opens at 9am. If you call in a little before 9 does it put you into a holding pattern?

No, usually it tells you the operating hours, and then you have to dial again. But, you can try right AT 9. . .

I typically start a couple of minutes ahead and usually get the "closed" message. Then I keep hitting redial until it goes through. It usually opens right at 9:00 (using time.gov).
