Newbie looking for Disneymoon advice.

Hi everyone. I've posted on the boards here a couple times, but I don't think ever on this one. My fiance and I are planning on going on our honeymoon from November 19th-26th. We've never been to Disneyworld before though!We have a courtesy hold at Animal Kingdom. What are your opinions about this hotel for a honeymoon? Anything you can suggest to us about it? We know it's not the closest, but we really like the savannah and animals and it seems pretty cozy. I don't think we would mind being out of the way a bit. We would love the GF since it seems more romantic but definitely can't afford it. Anyone else planning on going there? Thanks!

The AKL is a great choice and would be a wonderful pace for a Disneymoon!

I have found that if it is cooler outside, the animals are out more. The rooms with the Savannah views are great! Tell them it is your disneymoon when you make the reservation/check-in and maybe you will have some extra Disney Magic . . . you will at least get a lot of congratulation wishes which made us feel so special!

GF is great, but it doesn't have the animal factor . . . actually it does have a lot of ducks, butt hat is it!

Maybe you could make a few dining reservations there- Mizner's Lounge in the main building is a great place to have cocktails and the food at Citricos and Narcooses is excellent. For somethign really romantic and special, have dinner at Victoria & Albert's. They will personalize your menu with your names, dates, & occasion.

we disneymooned at the GF in January and it was heavenly! we are going back to teh world in dec. and are trying out AKL and I am actually excited about it! if you use the search tool at the top of the page, you can find all kinds of honeymoon advice on thing to do, places to eat, etc. etc. have you checked out the AKL FAQ thread on the resorts board?
