Hi Everyone,

I have been reading your posts for a few months now, with my fingers crossed, hoping that one day I would be in your shoes. My love proposed two weeks ago, and I called Disney's planners today!! We had been talking about a Disney wedding practically since the day we met. So I am beyond thrilled!! We are planning for May 13th 2008.

Your posts are wonderful, they are so much more informative than the Disney website. Anyway, I have a few questions. I hope they aren't redundant, but I couldn't find past threads about them.

Here goes...
1. What are the hotel discount rates?

2. Will our disneymoon count towards the required minimum 25 room nights?

3. Under what conditions is it possible to have a ceremony and reception at Epcot during park hours?

4. Has anyone had/having a semiformal - formal dinner reception at a restaurant other than those listed on the Disney weddings website? What would you recommend?

Thank you in advance!

I can't wait!! Yippeeeee!!!

1. Value: 10% off, Moderate: 20% off, and places with convention centers (GF,YC,BW,BC etc) you get 30% off.
2. I think that your honeymoon would count. Not sure though.
3. I don't think you can have the ceremony in EPCOT during normal park hours, but your reception you can.
4. Can't answer this one... haven't had my wedding yet.

HTH

:welcome: to the DIS! Unfortunately, I am still in the early planning stages myself so I don't have much of that specific info. I just wanted to welcome you to the boards.

There are lots of people here with tons of helpful information. I'm sure someone will come along who can answer your questions.

Hi! Welcome to the boards. This is a great place to get info from other disney brides and disneymooners.
I'm going to try to answer some of your questions the best I can.

1. PrincessBrideKatie had it right
2. Yes your honeymoon can count towards your minimum
3. You might be able to have a ceremony and reception in EPCOT during park hours is the American Rotunda. The events must start after 7 pm and there is a 100 person minimum. I think you can also have them done in the China Pavillion after 7 pm. You can have a dessert party during Illuminations in parts of Epcot, I think the menus might be limited in those areas. There are more places around Epcot that you can have a morning cereony. I am having my ceremony at the UK Pavillion at 9 am and lunch reception at the Living Seas from 10am-3pm.
What did you have in mind?
4. I'm sorry to say I don't know of any other restaurants to have a private reception other then what is listed, but you can always ask your planner. I think Fulton's crab house at Downtown Disney might be an option.

Good Luck! We look forward to hearing more about your plans :goodvibes

I'm a newbie myself but congratulations and welcome!! You're also getting married the day after my birthday.. heh :)

Thank you all for the welcomes and answers. I can't wait to talk to the planner so that I can get a better idea of what my options really are.
