Newbie!! Im overwhelmed!!

Hello, Im new to the Disboards, but not to message boards in general, and I have to say, this board overwhelmes me....and thats saying alot, if you knew my background with boards!!!! LOL Ok, first off, Im going to WDW in Feb with my family, this will be my first FAMILY trip, hubby and I went there for our honeymoon. I will be bringing a 7 yo boy and a 4 yo girl. I did have a question is there a way to purchase disney dollars before go to WDW, cuz I have family members wanting to get that for my kids for birthdays and I dont know where to tell them to purchase them. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Oh, and what does MMSSHNP (is that even close?, bet youll know what Im meaning!!) what is that acronym for? Is there a thread of all the current acronyms for newbies? Im usually pretty good at these but some are blowing by me

Hello, Newbie and welcome.

I can answer a couple of your questions. If you have a Disney Store near you, that is where you can purchase Disney dollars. And the acronym
MNSSHP - is for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.

You also might want to start refering to your family as DH (Disney Husband), DS7 (Disney Son 7) and DD4 (Disney Daughter 4)

Oh yeah and soon you'll start seeing MVMCP which is Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.

Welcome aboard! I know what you mean with it being so overwhelming. When I first joined, I mainly stuck to this board ("Welcome to the DIS"). After getting my feet wet here (learning the different acronyms and such), I ventured over to the "Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies" board and starting to participate on there. Then I added the "Disney Resorts" and "Disney Restaurants" to my repertoire. I figured, you have to learn to crawl before you can walk. So sign up and join in on the fun!
