Hi, I am new to this board but have been reading it a lot lately and I have learned so much! We are heading to WDW for the first time ever, and we are super excited! Living in CA we have been to DLand many times and we can't wait to see WDW!
Anyway, to make a long story short, others that we were traveling with supposedly made a few ADR's, but things have changed and there are no ADR's for us. So we are on our own. There are 9 of us, so it's a large group to reserve for. I didn't realize how far ahead you needed to do this, plus I was counting on others to make the ADR's. Is it too late for us??!! We are going June 15-22. We would like the Playhouse Disney Play N Dine at DHS....has anyone done this? We also want a character meal with the regulars...Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, etc. Am looking at Liberty Tree Tavern in MK for that, and I actually did get an ADR for that one, but not until 8:40pm!
So I guess I need to get on the phone today....any helpful suggestions from anyone on going to breakfast/lunch/dinner earlier or later to get an ADR?
Also, can you ever get in on a cx?
And is the Coral Reef really worth it if I can get in?
Thanks in advance for your help and wise advice!

WELCOME to the DIs!!

:woohoo: You're going to Disney!! :woohoo:

I think calling and getting as many adr's as you can, and calling back is helpful - I think larger parties have had better luck booking 2 tables of 4 than one table for 9 - and dont stress you still will be seated together - the adr wdw dine is a call center - and going up to the podium, they make magic happen!!

but dont expect to get walk ups - altho it does happen - and if you do have a ressie, and show up early - I've seen people sit with crying children that complained, but still wasnt seated until their adr time (because no one cancelled,)

I've also read reports of people calling wdw dine from disney to ask for availabilty -

I think the key is to be flexible!!

Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom has a great buffet and is a character meal...

so good luck!! And let us know how it goes!!

Hi. Just wanted to post that we travel to WDW from Ca frequently and we prefer the later ADR's as we never seem to adjust to the time change. We get up early, plan a midday break/nap and eat late lunches and dinners.

We like Coral Reef real well for lunch. It's dark and cool in there and it's a great break from that Florida heat in the afternoon.

Yeah ... do call back from WDW if you're not happy with your ADR times. With ADRs being made further and further out, there are typically some slots that open up as people cancel or change plans they made months and months ago. It's very much worth a shot.

Thanks for all your ideas! I will try to change the time on my real late ADR when we get there.
I was able to get a Coral Reef ADR for lunch for 11:30....I was surprised!
I also got the Playhouse Disney one too for my little one...she will love that!
Thanks again!

TA DA!! :cool1:

I think if you check the Review board you may find pictures of the playhouse - I know its in the Hollywood and Vine location and is a buffet - for me - I like buffets!! and the characters sound cute for the little ones!!
