Hi all, I am planning my first Disneyworld trip for my DS (7) and I. We are so excited:dance3: and cannot wait to get there! Planning is a bit overwhelming but this forum has helped tremendously! I am still trying to figure out how much money to bring and would it be worth it to get the dining plan:confused3? This was planned at the last minute. DH cannot go he has to work:sad1: so my son and I are going solo. We will be staying at the POP from Aug 9-16:banana:. This will also be my son's first airplane ride and it's a long one...coming from California.:cheer2:

Thanks for the tips! What type of clothing should we bring? I have to go shopping for clothes cause I live in the bay area and it does not get that hot out here. The only time I buy summer clothes is when I am going on a trip to Vegas. I am so way too ANXIOUSparty:

The planning can be tiresome but I guaranty it will be well worth it. We love the dining plan, you don't have to worry about bringing enough money for food it's already included in your plan. Have a great time!!

Hi and welcome.

POP is a great choice for a first trip with a 7 year old. He will love the theming. Have you made any ADRs for sit down meals? With 16 days to go you may find it hard to get enough restaurants of your choice and at times you want. Have you considered maybe doing the Quick Service Dining Plan and paying for one character meal out of pocket? If you are flexible with times and days you should be able to get a nice character meal.

And try not to worry. Everyone worries in the final run up, no matter how many times they have been. It is all part of the excitement.

Dont forget to take lots of pictures and remember to stop every once in a while and just enjoy that moment - just being there. The magic is not about rushing from one attraction to the next. That is only part of it.

When things don't go according to your plans, just flow with it. It's not your fault if you wait too long for a bus or if the wait times are double what you anticipated for Buzz Lightyear. Just be flexible. More important than doing everything is enjoying what you do get to do. You don't have to do it all in one trip.

Have a wonderful time. :goodvibes

Thanks for the advice!! I have made a character reservation at Chef Mickeys at the request of DS:yay: We upgraded to POR cause I received a pin and it was a good deal. My son is a very picky eater and I was looking at the menus on allears.net so I have my job cut out for me in that aspect:headache:. So I think I will do OOP. I have begun marking X's on the calendar:dance3:
