Newbie Heading to SSR in December

I booked a 2BR at SSR back in the summer through Disney and was wondering when I should expect to know which section of SSR I'll be located. Thanks for any help offered.

I am pretty sure there are 2 BR's in all sections at SSR. I stayed in a 2 BR last fall and again last month. The first time we stayed in the Grandstand section in room #8111. The Grandstand section is the first bus stop picked up when you are heading to the parks which means you sit on the bus for a bit while it goes to the other stops which is a bummer but it also means it is more likely you will get a seat and it also means it is the first stop on the way back to the room after a long day of walking around the parks which is really nice. It was a bit farther away from the food court and pool but it isn't bad at all. The second stay was in the Springs section. It was much closer to the pool and food court and it was the last stop to be picked up on the way to the parks which was nice in the morning but it was the last stop on the way back. They both have their pros and cons but all in all, I would go for the Grandstand section myself.

When you check in and have your room assignment.

We just got back. We didn't know until we received a text with our room assignment.

You'll find out your room number and section on your arrival day, once your room is cleaned and ready to be occupied.
