Hi, first off let me say this is the BEST disney board, I've recommended to everyone I know going to Disney. I posted a question earlier, and the help I
got from the members was great. We are going Nov 30-Dec 4. I have all my
reservations made, hotel, ect.
Now I'm wondering what else I need to do, I want this to be the most exciting
trip ever for my DD who's 5. I downloaded disney font on my computer at work, then been typing her letters from the disney characters, put some disney stamps, and slipping them in the mail. It's so awesome watching her
when she gets one.
Also wondering about clothes, ect.

101 MORE DAYS!!!!!!!

Hi from IL !

Being from Illinois you'll be used to the idea of packing for 2 or 3 season. In Dec. the days are usually warm ( 70's ) but the nights can get down to the 50's.

Has your DD ever been? A fun idea is 30 days out, have a calendar that she can check off each day and discuss one thing she'll see. ( ie - Pirates of the Caribbean, or if you have a special meal set up talk about that )

Have a great trip!

I went in December of 2004 and yes, I packed everything. I had shorts and jeans, short sleeves and long. I had a heavier coat with me because it was cold when we flew out of Bloomington IL. I also had a lightweight jacket for the chilly nights in FL. I think the temp got as high as 82 so I was able to swim and get some sun on the beach at CBR.

:wave2: Welcome from Morris, IL!!! We have been visiting WDW almost every year the week after Thanksgiving since 1999. This year, we will be there 11/28-12/7. I pack jean shorts and a few pair of jeans for my DH and mainly capris for myself. We also take a fleece jacket. It has only been a little cold a few days during one trip. More years, we have experienced hot weather. We absolutely love this time of year at WDW!!!

I feel your excitement!!!! Have fun and welcome!!!

I live out on the West Coast and have only been to DisnayLand before, but will be making a trip out to DisneyWorld next May. My question: I have a son who will be 2 1/2 years old when we go, as well as 2 8 year old girls.. having never been, does anyone have any advice on how to balance out the activities and maximize the fun for everyone? We'll be there for 7 days.
Sort of a side question, I have had people question why I want to bring the 2yo in the first place, but I think he'll have a blast, any opinions on that?

Thanks in advance.

You picked a great time to go, the Christmas decorations will be up and it's beautiful:santa:

Another Illinoian!! Western suburbs of Chicago....

Our family went last year from Dec. 11-19. It was HOT and then it was COLD, so bring a variety of clothes as was stated.

Another fun thing we did: We came back for a break everyday after lunch. To get my kids (even the older ones) to nap, I told them "Mickey" was going to come a leave a gift for them if they slept.
Well, before we left I had hit the Dollar Tree and bought a Disney themed item for each child for each day plus a package of Christmas lunch sacks. So, each afternoon when they awoke, a little bag was there with Silly Putty, stickers, yo-yo's, stamp pad, coloring book & crayons, etc. All Disney princess, Mickey or Pooh themed. They LOVED it. Even my 8 year old was thrilled!

They still talk about their "prizes". Oh...I just remembered I also used that idea as a way to get them to not ask for stuff in the gift shops. I said to them, "If you don't ask for anything, there might be a prize for you after your nap." Totally worked.

We did buy the Epcot Passports for $9.99...a MUST DO. We went "off campus" to buy t-shirts, but that was a hassle, so next time we'll buy those on-campus and pay a bit of a premium.

You are the first person that I have seen on the boards that lives so close. Have you ever been to WDW this time of year? It is wonderful!!! The decorations are beautiful and the X-mas programs are spectacular. Again, welcome to the boards!!
