Newbie confusion on hotel packages

I travel solo to Germany every February for a yearly conference. I'm usually stuck with a nightly layover for my flight home, so I've learned to take advantage of it for sightseeing reasons. I've started toying with the idea of hitting DLP on next year's trip since CDG is now coming up as a possible layover spot, but I have a few questions that I'm hoping someone can help me with.

Is there a way to downsize the Disney packages to only include tickets for one day? Everything I've read pretty much states that you'll get two days' worth of tickets for a one night stay if you get a package. However, that's not really going to help me, since this is just going to be a one day/one night stop.

I've also been trying to figure out how to get a Room-Only and just buy the ticket separate. I think I read that DLP only offers room-only deals for Dec through March? That's perfect timing for me, but none of the booking sites people are recommending seem to have the deals up right now. Which is also frustrating, because I know which hotels are reported as more expensive, but I don't have a baseline price to go off of to compare them on. I know I can skip all of this nonsense and just book with a partner hotel, but I'd like to stick to the actual Disney hotels for personal reasons, along with the fact that I won't have my own transportation available.

Expedia is good for room only rates I know some DISers have found deals there. Possibly other hotel sites too. :)

Although you might find you're just as cheap to get the second day if you find a good package.

Also - check the French DLRP site. They are good prices for shorter trips as the loco as don't want to stay as long as those travelling further.

i wouldn't book through disney themselves for one night and one day only, as you rightly say, their standard package is one night and 2 days, and its really only the French site where you'll get any kind of discount for a one-night package stay.

I haven't seen the onsite hotels on room only through expedia yet for this winter, they are usually on sale by now.

I know you say you have reasons for staying onsite, but offsite and nearby is perfectly possible at DLP, you don't need your own transport (you can walk from some of the Serris/val d'europe accommodations in less than 20 minutes, and the associated hotels all have free shuttles which run all day every day).

Thank you!

I have been keeping the partner hotels on reserve, in case the room-onlys don't show up. All of the previous threads that mention room-only seem to say that expedia and other sites would have had them up by now. I may have to push it off a year since I have to get my plans finalized pretty soon, but at least that way I can do some more research first.
