Newbie and I'm confused

I got on last night and it finally accepted the name "ScrapMom" for me. I made a room and tried to go exploring but I couldn't get to my bar at the bottom that allows me to do anything.
This morning I got on again and it told me my name "ScrapMom" was already taken so I gave myself the name "DisAnnie" but it didn't ask me to make another guest room so I figured all was fine.
When I clicked on "My room" it told me it was somebody else's! And I still can't get my bar at the bottom to come up to where I can use it. The stupid computer finally told me I didn't have enough memory.
So do I have 2 charactersor 1? And are they stuck where I left them?

It sounds like you have the one name you are currently under Guest#### am i right.

It takes around a week to get you name finally approved.

As far as the control bar goes the best way is to view the game full screen by hitting F11 or choosing full screen from the View in menu bar.

Whenever you have a problem with VMK a good rule of thumb is to clear your internet cache. You'll have to let me know if you are using Firefox or IE.

Thanks! I'm using IE. I think most of my problem is a really old computer that's maxed out on it's memory.
