Newbe in need of some reservation help

Hi, Im pretty new to the boards and my family is visiting WDW in December. Im wanting to make reservations for the fireworks dessert party. From what Ive read it seems you have to keep checking with Disney because the date that they open the reservations for December isnt really set in stone. Ive read that I can subscribe to a thread and get alerted when they start taking reservations. Im trying to figure out what thread I subscribe to and how I go about doing that. Also the cancellation list thread, Do I just daily check that thread to se if a cancellation was made for a restaurant I want on a date that Im looking for? Thanks for all the help in advance!

Toward the top, right under where is say how many pages in the thread, there is a box that says "thread tools" - click on that and then click on subscribe.
