Newark airport parking

I've never used long distance parking before and would appreciate any recommendations you could give for Newark airport. I also wondered how parking is priced - We'll be arriving at 1:30 PM on Thursday and returning 1:30 PM on Sunday. Will this be four calendar days or three 24 hour periods? Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

Parking Lots P1 and P3 can be reached by AirTrain monorail. It is the stop beyond Terminal A. (These lots charge $12 per day)
Lot P4 is also on the AirTrain route near Terminal C. (This lot charges $20 per day)
The cheapest on-airport parking options are the Economy Lots P6 and P7. They are reached by shuttle bus from the terminals. Follow the signs. (These lots charge $8 per day)
I do not know how if they charge by calendar days or 24 hour periods. You can call them and ask. The Parking Information line is (973) 961-4751.

I never park at Newark Airport. I use a park and ride service. Sky Park and Avistar are both very reliable ones. THey are up near the Budweiser plant.

There was an article in the Sunday Star Ledger a couple years ago about teh high rate of auto theft and vacalism in the long term lots at Newark. Made me glad I use the park and rides. They are smaller and have gated lots with 24 hour security. From the guard shacks they can see anybody coming into the lot anytime. And because you pretty much come to their lot via their shuttle, anybody who all of a sudden showed up by walking in or climbing the fence and tried to drive off with a car would be just a little suspicious

I may be too late, I believe you said you were leaving Thurs and now its Sunday but for future reference, I recently parked in lot P1P3 (thats what I wrote down anyway lol) on a Friday afternoon around 4pm and returned on Sunday at around 2pm. I was charged for three 24 hour periods of $12 each (total was $32). I felt very safe, there were 2-3 'uniformed guys' in each lot both times, and my 3 month old dark blue (very pretty) minivan was not even nicked.

I just printed out a coupon on www.avistarparking.com When you go to that site, a window pops up with a summer special. Click on that, fill in your dates and information. You will get the coupon. We're using them for a week and it's $44.50.

We used long term parking at Newark in July. Parked in the Monorail lot(p3 I think?) It was wonderful. Made it to the parking lot and back to the terminal in 12 minutes!! Paid 12.00/day and used the express pay within the monorail terminal and cruised on out. I would definitely use it again (November!!)
