I know that this isnt related to disney, but i am trying to find really cheap flights from the new york to orlando. Theapest i can find is from syracuse airport and mcarthur airport. I'm not from the area, so how would i get from manhatten to either of these airport? What would it cost and how long would it take?

Thanks alot:earsboy:

Syracuse is closer to Canada than to NYC. McArthur is located on Islip, Long Island, about 1 to 2 hours away from Manhattan, depending on the traffic of Long Island Expressway(the world's longest parking lot). Have you tried Jet Blue leaving from JFK? Their rates are very good too. We live in Long Island and we prefer Jet Blue over Southwestern leaving from McArthur. Good Luck.

We too live on Long Island and used Southwest Airlines out of Islip (Macarthur) Long Island in August. I also did alot of price comparison. I compared JFK (Jet Blue) and Laguardia which is also is considered the NY Metro area. (delta) (american) and now they have SONG airlines? Have you checked them? I am assuming you are flying from England into JFK perhaps. I can't believe the flights would be that much difference in money. I saw the only problems were flights that were not direct to orlando and had more connections. You can get a limo that holds at least 5 for about $2oo american dollars plus tip round trip approximately. from JFK that will take you to Macarthur too. We use a company called Classic transportation from Bohemia, NY (this is located by Long Island by the Macarthur Airport. )

I'm in Syracuse and find it hard to believe that cheap flights are from here. I look at ALbany and Rochester for my flights and Syracuse airport is about 5 minutes away.

Syracuse is about 5-6 hours from NYC area.

We fly Southeast Airlines out of either Newark, NJ or Newburgh, NY. Their web address is: www.flyseal.com They have fares as low as $59 each way. We have flown them once and had no problems. We will be using them again this December to Fort Lauderdale. For Orlando flights, they use the Orlando/Sanford Airport.

from Manhattan, definitely try to consider just Laguardia (LGA), JFK, or Newark Liberty (EWR).
if you find an amazing Southwest airlines airfare, you could consider Long Island Islip, but it's pretty far away from Manhattan.

Song/Delta flies out of all 3 NYC area airports.
JetBlue flies out of JFK.
American sometimes has a fare that beats the above 2 airlines, but it's been a while since i've seen that.

try doing a search on Orbitz too, they have a good engine for comparing airfares.

Hi, i have checked most of the websites and the cheapest is with southwest from Long Island for $75 each way.
i will carry on looking around.

Thanks for the help

Hi.... me again. i have searched more flights, and flights from Newburgh seem quite good. Can you get the train from Manhattan to the airport? or what are the cheapest and easist options?

thanks.

Jet Blue http://www.jetblue.com/ out of JFK is probably your best bet. McArthur and Newburg are really too far from Manhattan. Although you can get from Manhattan to McArthur by train it'll probably take you almost 2 hours and it's a commuter railroad without an easy way to handle luggage.

If you're trying to save money look into flying into Tampa (if you're renting a car). Not much more than an hour drive to Disney.

What dates are you looking for?

stal, remember that the US is nothing like Europe or the UK in terms of getting around by bus or by train!

the trains and buses are comfortable and fast in UK + Europe.
the trains and buses are a nightmare and slow in the US!

i know for a fact that i've seen Song or Jetblue airfares as low as $79 one way from NYC airports. what dates are you travelling?

What about Spirit from LaGuardia?

This is my first time arranging this sort of trip. We're going in April during the spring break period and so I purchased the tickets in the summer. At that point, Spirit was cheaper than most. We live on the West side of the Hudson, so LI and JFK are a hike for us.

Anyway, this is another option to throw out there. Although, perhaps there's a reason those more experienced aren't mentioning this airline. In which case, I'd like to hear people's review of Spirit Airlines based on their experiences.
