I have been to NYC before...but 4 of us want to go and share a room to save $$ and then have more to shop???

Any recommendations?

Marriott Marquis in Time Square. Try Priceline.

Whatever hotel you decide to stay at, enjoy your vist to the greatest city in the world! :)

Try the Doubletree and the Edison hotel, right in the heart of Broadway and Times Square.

I'm considering making my first tourist trip to NYC this spring break....its a school trip, theyd be staying at the Edison Hotel....how is it there?

Jungle Josh

I went with my dad and sister and we stayed at the Avalon hotel. It had two queen beds and a smaller couch bed as well. Its been a few years but I remember it was located within walking distance of times square, had a great big bathroom and good free breakfast.

I hate spending a lot on hotels, especially in such a cool spot where you will literally be just sleeping there. However, NYC is my one exception. Try to stay in the nicest hotel that you can afford, believe me it's worth it (especially with 4 people as NYC rooms are notoriously tiny).

My suggestion is the Westin in Times Square - very nice, clean. It's pretty new and it's actually very quiet for it's location (and it's a perfect location - right near all the shows and Times Square). Not the cheapest but they have some good deals running all the time.

Have fun. How can you not????

When we stay in the city SO and I like the On the Ave Hotel. It's in a great Upper West Side neighborhood, gets you away from the hustle and bustle to unwind and is convenient to get around by subway.

Others I reccomend would be:

In the Times Square area: Renaissance Times Square, Westin Times Square, and Hilton Times Square.

Herald Square area: Holiday Inn Martinique and Hotel Metro

Downtown : Marriott Financial Center and Millenium Hilton

Wherever you stay you will LOVE NY!!

We just got back and stayed at the Affinia Dumont (34th and Lexington). It was very beautiful, but expensive (on my mom's company :). This next trip we are staying at the Red Roof Inn by the Empire State Building (my mom needs to be close to her conference) I can't let her loose in the city!! lol have a great time!

Some great ideas here.

Last summer when we were there, we stayed at the 'Helmsley Park Lane' and it was wonderful. Opposite Central Park and the rooms were huge...but this time I cannot find the great price I was able to last visit! :confused3

I appreciate all the suggestions :wave2:
