Hi. I just booked thru DCL Dec 31 Western Magic for me & my DD (27) I am DVC but paying cash, booked a cat 12 room-cheapest, wanted to save some $$ this time, vacationstogo.com was the same price-are most of the TA the same price? with the savings we are going to SSR from 12/26 or 12/27to 12/31, just hoping for a good price on air from Buffalo! Thanks Val

It depends ... you may still want to check with some other travel agencies - Dreams Unlimited, The Mouse For Less, Mouse Ear Vacations, Small World Vacations, Midcan, All Seas Travel, etc... One of them may be able to save you a bit more money. It's not too late. You can transfer your DCL reservation to a TA. Good Luck.

2 people in a cat 12 gty. for that sailing is listed at:

$2646.36
through All Seasons

(I have their site in another window checking a price for myself)

Does that save you anything off DCL prices?

vals we will be on the same cruise, 5 1/2 months away and you are the first that i have heard that will be cruising with us ! :cool1:

I have the price from DCL at my shop, DU was higher than Allseasons, I think that Allseasons might be a bit lower, will check it out tmo. My thinking is that with the $$ that we save on a cat 12-well, we can put it towards more vacations!
WDWStar-how many in your party? Its just me & my 27 yr old DD- Hope to meet you on board! Val

Vals I booked thru DU and got a $200 discount & $100 on ship board credit, cat.6. They were cheaper then DCL. I did find someone cheaper then DU by $100 but DU said they cant match the price. Since i have never used the other TA i thought i would stick with DU , since i had received great service and prompt emails plus DU has the same cancelation policy as DCL. I think DU is well worth the extra $100. :goodvibes

New Years's is a peak time, so getting a huge price difference would be hard.

Sometimes some travel agents buy a block of rooms, and then Disney will sell them the rooms in bulk for less, and they can also afford to make less commission on each cabin, so yes, it does pay to shop around. But I don't think there is huge difference for a peak week like New Years.

We have a travel agency here in town that buys bulk cabins during the off season, and for repo cruises. None on Disney, yet, but my mom takes at least one cruise a year with them. The prices are amazing. She paid $399 for a 7 day SF to Cabo and back, $599 for an 11 day SF to Puerto Vallarta and back, (no air fare for those two) and $1199 for a 14 day with air (7 day circle Hawaii cruise, then another 7 days doing arepo cruise to Vancouver ending at SF.

Many agencies get their rates to be less than DCL by rebating their commission back to the client, and as tvguy stated, by blocking a group of rooms to get the group discount from DCL.

Many cruise lines are working to stop agencies from advertising rates with discounts due to rebating of commissions, DCL included, so we may see less difference in advertised rates for cruises in the near future.

I just check Sam's club online thru the travel sectiona nd the same cruise, same cat. it was even cheaper $400 then DCL. A $100 cheaper then DU, but in my opinoin it was not worth canceling DU and booking thru SC. Du has been so helpful, fast responce with emails and you know they are there for you if you need anything. Thank you DU, you are the greatest ! :goodvibes
