New Year's FANTASY 12/28/13

Hey all, looks like we are on the FANTASY over NYE!!

Is there a chance to join the FE this trip? If it's too late, that's ok, we still have things to put out...:)

We are in cabin 6010
Ray & Laura
DD18 Jessica
DD13 Sarah

Looking forward to a great cruise!!

Welcome! Unfortunately the FE closed a while ago. There is a meet up at 2:00 on Saturday at the Vista Cafe if you would like to join us. Our daughter Megan is 18 as well. She'll be at the meet that day.

Oh my gosh time is getting away from me!! We have done NO packing and our FE gifts aren't finished yet! YIKES!!

At least, all our Christmas shopping/wrapping is done! Time to concentrate on the CRUISE! The boys have rented the tuxes so that takes care of their dressy clothes. Now just to head to Disneyland this week to buy their mickey bow ties.

For those of you men doing tuxes on NYE/formal night . . . are you also bringing suits for semi-formal night? I feel like we're packing up our entire closet!!

Yayyyyyyyyyy! It's the one we've all been waiting for! See you next week!

Yea- i think i am making dh do that- we have Remy on Pirate night, so that would be 4 nights in a tux if we don't bring a suit-

So I am coming up with about 20 staterooms with 65 or so people participating in the FE. Anyone else have those same numbers? For me that is starting to push the limits of too big. Thoughts on dividing it? Deadline to sign up is 2 days away.

It's all about keeping it fun.

We've not kept up with the DIS conversation much this year due to schedule and other issues...

We've been on some cruises where there were more than 50 FE participants. With that many participants you are almost assured you will get "something" almost everytime you leave the room. It does not have to be something hand made or expensive, but the thrill is to find some "extra magic" waiting for you.

My kids LOVED it when they were little, and still look forward to the little gems hidden in those pouches...

We have enjoyed the generosity of others over the years and have tried to come up with "special" items to share. Looking forward to 12/28!!

Sitting on the hotel balcony now looking out at the ocean. Sure is nice here. Can't wait till tomorrow!

Hello Disney Cruise Line Fantasy attendees! :dance3:

We sail on January 11th and I wanted to get some input on crew members and itinerary that you had on your cruise.

If anyone can shoot me some info, I would really appreciate it!

Great servers?

Concierge Crew?

Is Novak on board in one of the bars? Great Bartender from Serbia!!

Thanks, we are really looking forward to the trip!!

NYE Fantasy 2013 Cruisers-

I'm on NYE 2014 wondering:
Is formal night on New Years? or another night?
Is there a preferred dining rotation based on New Years?
Are there more Tuxes seen on this trip than other cruises because of the holiday?
Is there a Pirate Party or is that subbed with NYE?
Anything special New Years Day?
Animators Palate "show" is 2nd time around on Fantasy, correct?
What night would you suggest doing Remy? Palo?

I'm sure I'll have more questions, but figure this is fresh in your minds now.

Hope you all had a great cruise and a Happy New Year!

After 6 cruises, I still don't know what is the "perfect" dining rotation. But to answer some of your other questions . . .

Formal night is NYE with fireworks.
Yes - lots of tuxes but also plenty of suits
Pirate night is earlier in the week (no fireworks though)
Nothing special that I knew about on New Years day
First night in Animators was the Crush show, 2nd night was the drawings show (which we missed)

The only night I wouldn't want to do Palo/Remy is pirate night - just because I think its fun to dress up and watch people at dinner . . . but it depends on your preference.

We did Remy and it was INCREDIBLE! I wouldn't mind missing pretty much anything for that. Interesting note - at first we had planned on doing Remy on NYE so that we could dress up in formal wear, etc. But my DD13 was bummed - said she wanted us all to be together in our formal outfits on NYE. So I changed our res a few weeks out. She was right - enjoyed all 4 of us being together that night.

Hope this helps!

Jodie

Thanks Jodie.

I'm the overplanner and while I know it will all work out, I can't help but micro-manage these little elements.

Planning on Remy, but not sure about Palo, though I know it would be amazing.

We will follow your DD13 lead and plan on doing dinner and NYE with the kiddos.
