Can anyone tell me if anything special goes on for New Year's Eve? We will be in WDW from 12/27-1/3 & I would love to make plans for NYE. I would get a babysitter for the 4 kids, so the 5 adults could go out. Any help is appreciated, as of right now it appears we will be staying at the Swan. Thanks, Kathy ;)

Every park has special events planned for NYE. We spent NYE in MK a few years ago. CMs passed out hats and noise makers, there were special fireworks at midnight. The thing I remember most is that the MK closed pretty early in the day, and the crowds were horrendous. We had friends that spent that same NYE at MGM, and said it was crowded but manageable, and there were bands that played. Hope that helps.

Thanks Ann, any info. helps. Do you know if Pleasure Island does anything different, or if any of the Disney restaurants have any special events planned? Once again, thanks for your help. Kathy ;)

We did Pleasure Island NYE on our honeymoon. They had like 6 big acts/groups all doing a different style of music. In 96/97 on the main stage it was the band Foreigner (which was absolutely AWESOME), I think at one of the other places Maxie Priest and a few others. Food setup at all of the different "patios" of the different clubs and just an all out party all night long.

It is a separate admission ticket to go and even then you need to make sure you get there early.

Attire ran the gamut, from shorts & tees to tuxes and formals (not kidding). I mixed and went jeans with a Tux shirt, J. Garcia bowtie & cumberbund (sp?). It was a good time.

Thanks so much Montessori, I really feel like I belong to the Dis now..sniffle..sniffle. Snoopy Rules!!! Kathy ;)
