We are thinking of going for New Year's Eve. Only thing putting us off is the food prices even plaza gardens is over 100 euros this day. Has Anyone been before and know if counter service is open for an evening meal this day? Also is it just after a certain time the prices shoot up that day it is it all day?

anyone know what time the parades were lasat christmas and shows as dont want to book a meal and miss something. better still has anytone got last years programme

To be honest, New Years Eve is the busiest day of the year and I would NEVER take my young kids there ever again at that time :-/ Watching the NYE fireworks at 1.00am was horrendous, people drunk, standing on my pushchair and it took an hour to get out.....my Dad even cried as it was -12 and someone stole my daughters blanket out of her pushchair! Couldn't get on any rides (we did ONE, BTM on a fast pass) but we had a fab meal in Planet Hollywood. The parade was at 5pm, its almost dark by then and finishes in the dark with Main street lit up :)

Counter service should be open in the evening (note I say should be!) but best to eat early as it's going to be extremely busy. You can gauge which restaurants are going to have inflated prices by seeing in the brochure which ones offer the NYE special meals. If they're not advertising an expensive lunch you should be able to eat there earlier ie Walt's, Blue Lagoon, Plaza at usual prices but you'll have to wait until the window for booking meals (60 days) opens to be absolutely sure.
