Anything special happening at the Fort on New Years Eve?

Thanks Sambuster

I heve been there almost every new years for 20+ years. Years ago Disney did a lot more now it's just drinking and Fireworks

Right, nothing real special.

There will be an extended fireworks show at the Magic Kingdom at midnight.

On both 12/30 and 12/31.

Clementine's Beach at the Fort will be crowded with folks watching the fireworks.

But, otherwise, you have to make your own party.

I would love to be there for New Years, but it seems that reservations are full. Is there a trick to getting a site for New Years weekend this late in the year, or does it really fill to capacity??? I relatively new here and this would be my family's first trip...

Yes, Christmas through New Year's Eve is one of the busiest, if not the busiest time of year at Fort Wilderness.

Most folks make their reservations more than a year in advance.

The only trick to getting a reservation this late in the game is to keep trying. The system is updated as cancellations are made, and you could get lucky and pick up a cancellation.

Persistence is the key.

We were there last year and will be there again this year.

We went down to the beach for the fireworks and sat freezing cold for a couple of hours to save our seats. About 20 minutes before the fireworks started, this group of about 5 adults put their chairs right at the water's edge (ok, so no big deal). The problem was that when the fireworks started, the jerks STOOD UP! None of the people behind then could see a thing - especially the kids. I was SHOCKED!
