New Year's Eve

Has anyone been on a Disney cruise over New Year's Eve? I imagine they do some sort of celebration -- what it is like? Fun? Kid-friendly or adult oriented?

I'm trying to figure out our plans for next New Year's, and I'd love to convince the family to go on a cruise. Any details would be appreciated!

Someone posted yesterday that they tried to get a quote from the DCL site for the 7-day NYE 2008 cruise and it wasn't showing any availability right now so that would leave the 4 night Wonder cruise that leaves on NYE. Of course you could watch for cabins to open up if anyone cancels on the Magic NYE cruise. HTH!

We are booked for our first ever cruise on the Wonder- a 4 night cruise departing on New Year's Eve! We are very excited- can't wait, but having a terrific time planning here on the DIS.

I am also searching for more reports of the 4 nt cruise. Not as many people seem to do this as the 7 night, but I am sure it will be a blast.

From what I can tell, they certainly do have New Year's celebrations on the ship.
I have heard that NYE is formal- even on the 4nt. There are parties and a countdown with champagne/sparkling cider.
