Hi! We are planning on having a quiet New Year's Eve with our DD3. Any suggestions? We live in Mississauga. I just found out that Stage West is doing Rudolph that night, but it looks like it is booked. Any other ideas? TIA!

Perhaps take in a Movie? Chicken Little or something along those lines.

We are as well taking it quiet this year and Im kind of looking forward to that.

Happy New Year

Not sure if you want to drive somewhere but the Zoo has an early night thing going on with clowns etc. I think there is also something at ONtario PLace - maybe check out Today's Parent online or 'Help We've Got Kids' which should list NYE activities. We're hanging in with friends who also have young kiddos - hopefully they will all be snoring by the time we ring in the new year!

We used to search the net until we could find a New Years countdown and then make our own celebration and New Years bash... but midnight would mysteriously occur at 7pm.

Both our kids loved it....

Some of our kids have a nap before midnight, others are old enought to stay up the entire time. At midnight they bang pots and pans and yell. We have a feast at midnight of the children's choosing. Over the years it has grown into an open house too so now we end up with lots of relatives stoping by too. Not a quiet night but this way the kids get to participate in the activity and now the kids look forward to it every year, even the younger ones.

Hi ~ I live in Mississauga too. Mountsberg [Halton Conservation] is having a family oriented New Years Eve there midnight comes very early. We have a season's pass, but you can also go to several conservation areas in the same day you purchase your one-day ticket. So you can go to Crawford Lake Indian Village [500 year old Iroquoian Village] first and then head to Mountsberg [about 10 minutes away]. Here is the blurb from the website:

New Year's Eve Family Hoopla *EVENT

Beginning at 6:00 pm

What's a Hoopla, you ask? It's an old fashioned, outdoor evening of family fun to ring in the New Year! A whole slew of activities will be offered for you to choose from (conditions permitting): Horse-drawn sleigh rides, an evening snowshoe hike, skating and music on the farm pond, games in the PlayBarn, and storytelling by the fire, to name but a few. We'll be cooking up a storm in the country kitchen, so bring your appetites! We'll ring in the New Year at 8:30 pm so that our youngest guests can participate. Advance ticket purchase is required. Call (905) 854-2276 or e-mail mtsberg@hrca.on.ca

thanks for all the responses! We ended up going out to dinner with my DS and her DD, and then back to our place. The kids had a blast-stayed up until 2:30am :bitelip: Next year I will plan a little earlier in the month!
