New Years Eve w/Kids - Suggestions Needed

Hello all,
We will be spending New years Eve in the Magic Kingdom. We are planning on arriving early due to crowds at the suggestion of many of you. We are traveling with 4 kids, ages: 5,6,10,12. They all want to see in midnight in the Magic Kingdom. i am affraid we will have tired kids, grouchy kids, or tired & grouchy kids. Any suggestions of quiet out of the way places in the Magic Kingdom where I may possible get them to calm down and either rest or relax a little at various times during the day?

Hi, we are doing MK on NYE also with a 7 year old and a 14 year old. Since this is our first trip on NYE, I can't speak from past experience, but I can tell you that we are planning to use Hall of Presidents, Carousel of Progress and the Country Bears to give the 7 year old a few breaks to sit down and rest during the day. You should enjoy yourself, however the crowds will be maxed out.

You should get to the parks early because they will close the gates possibly, if the crowds max out.

Quiet place? Well you likely may find one just not as busy as others. Quiet? Probably not on that night. If you are in a decent view of the fireworks, you'll be shoulder to shoulder with everyone else.

It is fun, but just be prepared for the heaviest crowds of the entire year at WDW. Everyone is different but, we have done it once on NYE and once on July 4 (this past year) and we figured the fireworks were great but, its one of those things you may only want to do once due to the crowds.

Basically the way we put it is.............you are paying admission to see fireworks because without waiting in long lines, you wont do much else.

I dont mean to damper anything because, it's fun on those times! It's just so so crowded you can't do a whole lot. The fireworks are incredible though!
